Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA) appeared on Hardball last night in support of the Left’s attempt to discredit the people showing up to townhalls in protest of ObamaCare. Boxer says she can tell that they’re fakes, because they’re too well dressed. How does she know that this is a problem? Because well-dressed people apparently told her to get the hell out of Florida in the Bush-Gore recount, too:

That explanation is a classic. If it’s true at all, she probably stunned the Floridians with the sheer stupidity of her non-sequitur. Ronald Reagan would not have gone into Florida to tell them how to conduct their recount; he had too much respect for state sovereignty in those issues. I almost laughed out loud when Boxer trotted that out on national TV.

On her main point, we’ve hosted the videos here at Hot Air. In my recollection, the people in the town halls are dressed in T-shirts, jeans, shorts, halter tops, and the like. Maybe the people need to strip down to their Boxers in order to be considered sincere.

Brian Walsh, communications director of the NRSC, responds to Boxer’s weird bout of sartorial paranoia:

“When you consider that Barbara Boxer considers Code Pink and MoveOn.org protestors to be ‘her base,’ it’s understandable that a Senator representing the left wing fringe would be confused when ordinary Americans engage in free speech. But the fact of the matter is that across the country, Americans of all backgrounds are standing up and saying ‘no’ to the Democrats spending and health-care takeover proposals.â€

Was this supposed to be some attempt to counter the obvious........that Americans from all walks of life are none too happy with this administration?

Careful Babs.....comments like that are showing weakness and desperation. Nothing more.

I think this lady has lost her marbels. She is an arrogant, out of touch un-rep. She has got to go and if the people of CA vote her in again, I will leave. She must have gotton a hold of some bad meat as she has mad cow disease. If we disagree with leftist policies we are racists, haters and heaven forbid we dress nice, (that's a clue that something isn't right) it can't be that we just simply don't like these socialistic ideas.

So the elitist Boxer thinks in order to be sincere you need to look like you're poor????? Ok guess I will have to change my attire. Can you imagine if a Republican Senator said the ACORN folks looked typically poor.

Why is she in Florida? Oh I know she thought the gray heads hadn't heard.
Most and many gray heads are those women and men who will not leave their home for public audience if their clothes are not ironed or every PRETTY HAIR IN PLACE.

Senator Boxer TERM LIMITS ARE NEEDED. Fire yourself.

Someone needs to start a counter that shows dates and derogatory terms used to describe anyone that doesn't agree with the DC crowd or their minions.

These people just look more stupid by the day, don't they? Remember when politicians took questions from a crowd and seemed to look at it as a chance to explain their position and clarify data. Now they look at anyone questioning their stupidity and arrogance as a protester. And, I'm pretty sure they would pass a law in a second that would allow them to arrest us if they could.
