(Natural News) Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry is set to call upon AG Jeff Sessions to break up the Big Tech monopoly. Will Silicon Valley’s stronghold on the internet finally come to an end? If AG Landry has any say, it seems like that may just be the case. In a recent interview with News Radio 710 Keel, in Shreveport, Landry commented, “My opinion is you are not going to fix this legislatively. You are going to have fix this like we always fix monopolies in this country. You are going to have to take an antitrust suit.”
“I think it’s an antitrust issue. I think the companies are too big and they need to be broken up,” he added.
Multiple legislators and other government officials have expressed similar concerns. Senator John Kennedy (R-LA) reportedly agrees with Landry, stating, “I agree that the Department of Justice should look at this issue. I’m a free market, private sector guy, but Facebook and Google aren’t companies. They’re countries.”
As Breitbart reports further, both President Trump and his 2020 campaign manager Brad Parscale have publicly criticized Big Tech for an array of issues, ranging from their Big Brother-esque attack on free speech to their overt political bias.
Will the Trump administration take on Big Tech?

President Trump has been lambasting companies like Google and Facebook for their egregious and overbearing attacks on freedom of speech, particularly their censorship of conservatives.
In August, the President stated, “I think that Google and Twitter and Facebook, they are really treading on very, very troubled territory and they have to be careful. It is not fair to large portions of the population.”
In another statement, Trump accused Big Tech of “silencing millions of people.”
“With respect to Google and Twitter and Facebook there is a big difference. And in fact I hear that they are holding hearings in Congress over the next couple of weeks and I think it’s a very serious problem because they are really trying to silence a very large part of this country and those people don’t want to be silenced. It’s not right. It’s not fair. It may not be legal. But, we’ll see. We just want fairness,” President Trump reportedly commented in late August.
Trump and his administration have given Big Tech plenty of warnings. Brad Parscale, Trump’s 2020 campaign manager, went so far as to call Big Tech a “direct threat to a free society,” and stated that Google is “arguable the worst offender.”
Big Tech means Big Censorship

Silicon Valley is known for its cult-like corporate culture but it’s become increasingly clear that tech companies are trying to get everyone to drink their Left-wing Kool-aid, not just their employees. Whether its plotting out new ways to thwart conservative politicians looking to take a stand against liberal intolerance and tyranny, or blocking free speech with haphazard “community guidelines,” tech industries across the board are using their platforms to push leftist ideals and stamp out any and all political dissidence.
Censorship is unfortunately alive and well in the United States — and Big Tech is leading the path to a full-blown police state.
Facebook has come under fire for censoring conservative political campaign ads that criticized communism and pro-life baby pictures, as well as banning popular figures like Alex Jones. But Google surely takes the cake, with reports of the tech giant’s active suppression of natural health information, and their recently revealed plot to influence future elections to ensure “better quality governance.”
Shocking video footage of a Google all-hands meeting showed just how extreme Google’s anti-Trump bias is, and just how little tolerance the company has for the only kind of diversity that matters: Diversity of thought.

(Natural News) After promising they would no longer spy on your emails for advertisement purposes, Google Inc. recently admitted to lawmakers that they continue to allow third party companies to scan and share data from private Gmail accounts. According to the Wall Street Journal, a top Google official wrote to the U.S. Senate, confessing that Google still allows app developers and data companies’ unprecedented access to Gmail accounts. Millions of Gmail users are being are having their privacy violated, as app developers scan their emails, view private details, and use the data for target marketing.
Every time an Android user uses an app on their phone, they are forced to give up the privacy of their own Gmail account. Google is allowing mobile phone apps to scan all your emails to pickup keywords, private messages, addresses, times stamps, and intimate details. All this private information can be compiled, analyzed, and used to build a psychological profile on users for advertising purposes.

Android apps enjoy unprecedented access to your intimate emails

Google manages to disregard user privacy and get away with it because they hide behind the apps’ coercive consent form, which asks Android users if they are willing to let the app breach their privacy. These coercive consent forms (that pop up before an app can be used) do not fully disclose whether a user’s private data can be analyzed by computers, humans, or both. These “consent forms” pop up and block access to the app unless the user agrees that the application can “read, send, delete, and manage your email.” The form also asks if you grant it permission to manage “your contacts and calendars.”
Google defends their privacy breach by adhering to a vetting process with app companies. Google “vets” the app companies by merely confirming their identity and checking to see if the company requests data that is in line with the company’s goals. For example, email apps get exclusive access to users’ Gmail accounts because the app’s focus is on email processing. Not every app gets approved to access users’ Gmail data, but Google won’t disclose which companies get exclusive access. Peculiarly, apps such as Salesforce and Microsoft Office enjoy unprecedented access to users’ Gmail accounts.

Humans scan thousands of emails to feed algorithms

Google employees also enjoy access to user’s emails in “very specific cases” when users give consent or for “security purposes.” After speaking with some of the companies, The WSJ found that the companies use human engineers to view hundreds to thousands of emails so they can train machine algorithms to process the data. Return Path and Edison Software are two app developers that openly state they monitor emails for this purpose.
As experienced in the Cambridge Analytica data sharing fiasco, there are times when user data is used for nefarious purposes. This is why protecting privacy is important. When tech companies have the power to collect your most intimate messages and analyze the information using algorithms, they gain power over people’s lives and are able to exploit people through targeted advertisement for political and business gain. Even more nefarious, private data can be analyzed to frame people, scheme, and manipulate. Phishing attacks can use this same permission request system on Android to subvert Google’s security clearances and steal data for nefarious purposes. This is already happening.
Not unrelated, Google is currently working with China to develop and Android app that censors out specific searches, news, and websites that the Chinese government has already banned through China’s great firewall. As Google collects private details on Gmail users, how will that information be used to engineer more of the same thought control platforms to manipulate people around the globe and make populations compliant to authority?

If you thought what Google was doing to conservatives was bad, look at what it is doing in China

Google sets out to be China's Communist Party's little henchman – and doesn't want you to know about it.

Google has drawn a lot of scrutiny, and not in a good way, for biasing search results against conservatives, artificially promoting leftists and leftwing causes, and smearing and blacklisting conservatives. This 2016 account by psychologist, artificial intelligence maven, and tech whiz Robert Epstein gives a superb point-by-point breakdown of what Google's been up to so far. (Epstein is the same guy in the news two days ago who said there is credible evidence that Google manipulated search results to swing the popular vote to Hillary Clinton.)
So much for not being evil.
But all of this is nuisanceware compared to what the people at Google have been caught doing in China and are now trying to cover up. According to Glenn Greenwald's The Intercept:

Google bosses have forced employees to delete a confidential memo circulating inside the company that revealed explosive details about a plan to launch a censored search engine in China, The Intercept has learned.
The memo, authored by a Google engineer who was asked to work on the project, disclosed that the search system, codenamed Dragonfly, would require users to log in to perform searches, track their location – and share the resulting history with a Chinese partner who would have "unilateral access" to the data.

CNET adds:

According to the report, the so-called Dragonfly search engine would require Chinese citizens to log in to perform searches, track their physical location, and then share all of its data with a Chinese partner company that could presumably share it with the Chinese government. The company would reportedly have "unilateral access" to the data. That might also presumably include Chinese citizens' phone numbers, as described in an earlier Intercept report.
Plus, that Chinese company would reportedly be able to independently add new words to the blacklist of searches to be censored, according to today's report.

Sounds like the Orwellian dream come true. Anyone who wants to have a cell phone and look up information in China would become a target for communist China's odious secret police, and they will be looking.
Seriously, a device to track your every move and every question asked is right there in the realm of thought control, and amazingly enough, it was an American company, full of leftists, who made such a communist dream a reality. The old Stalin or Mao system of informants and knocks on the door at midnight was just too crude and inefficient. Today's totalitarians are sleek and efficient, with Google technology powering their capacity to zero in on just the most disruptive people, the better to keep the rest of society submissive, with the least possible effort. This is how code works, deducting, deducting, deducting, and why it's done so much for America's productivity revolution. Now it's being applied to totalitarians' needs, with Google the big pioneer in it.
Who would have thought it would be American technology and know-how that made just such a system possible? What's more, who doesn't think these people won't find a way around it to bring it here?
Business Insider explains why Google doesn't want anyone to know:

The information within the memo appears to contradicts statements made by Google CEO Sundar Pichai that the company's efforts on a Chinese search engine were exploratory.
Google's China efforts mark a major reversal of its 2010 decision to pull its search operations out of China rather than censor information. The project to re-enter China has been hugely controversial inside the company, and several Google employees have resigned in protest.

Losing talent, deceiving shareholders – not a good thing. But from Google's point of view, China is a big market, and from big markets come big profits. I suspect that the Googletrons noticed that Yahoo! got off scot-free from cooperating with the Chicoms on email and decided that the risk was nothing while the money-making opportunity for themselves was too good to pass up. Hence the memo with that sneaky little plan to give the Chicoms the magic tools to go Orwell.
Any questions as to why President Trump just recently warned that Google and its lesser Silicon Valley coevals "threaten democracy and online freedom"? Americans love to dismiss Trump as over the top, but after reading this stuff, in retrospect, it sounds as though he knew something.
Knowledge is power, and those guys at Google understand that.
