Pi Pizzeria and Gringo are announcing the increase Wednesday, but they won’t begin the minimum wage of $10.10 an hour until April 1. The current minimum wage in Missouri is $7.50.

ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - Two St. Louis restaurants share the same street, the same owner, and soon a higher minimum wage.
Pi Pizzeria and Gringo are announcing the increase Wednesday, but they won't begin the minimum wage of $10.10 an hour until April 1. The current minimum wage in Missouri is $7.50.
During the State of the Union address in January, President Barack Obama announced he's taking executive action to raise minimum wage to $10.10 an hour for all new federal contracts.

Soon after, St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay announced he would take action to make sure all city employees making less than $10.10 an hour will see their pay increase. He also said he hoped other employers will follow the President's example.
