Report says California exports grew in February

California is exporting more goods abroad than it did last year, an indication of a slowly rebounding economy.

A monthly report released Tuesday by Beacon Economics of San Rafael said February marked the fourth consecutive month of year-over-year increases in California's exports.

The state exported nearly $10.4 billion in goods abroad. The value of shipments was 13.7 percent greater than it was at the same time last year.

Shipments of agricultural goods grew 36.9 percent while manufactured goods grew 7.3 percent.

The economists say the state is just getting back to the export level it enjoyed before the recession. They say growth with trading partners such as China is helping the state's exports.
