MIAMI MAYOR: MARCO RUBIO IS AN IDIOT

Some people, misguided though they may be, see Marco Rubio as a potential presidential candidate in 2016. Other people, sensible people, see Marco Rubio for what he really is.

“Rubio is an idiot,” says Philip Stoddard, talking about the Senator’s stance on climate change. “He says he is not a scientist so he doesn’t have a view about climate change and sea-level rise and so won’t do anything about it.”

The view that without being a scientist, he as a Senator should not hold a view regarding climate change is preposterous. It is the equivalent of sticking your head in the sand.

Nevertheless, this is exactly the view that Rubio has taken on the subject, despite his constituent state’s (Florida), vulnerability to rising sea-levels as a result of climate change.

“I do not believe that human activity is causing these dramatic changes to our climate the way these scientists are portraying it,” Rubio said to ABC.

“That’s what I do not — and I do not believe the the laws that they propose we pass will do anything about it. Except it will destroy our economy.”

According, to a new report from the Guardian points out that within 100 years, the city of Miami could be underwater. So Mayor Stoddard has reason to be concerned. He has a reason to have an opinion on climate change.
