(Washington, DC) -- Playmates Toys has launched a voluntary recall of children's jewelry sets that were made in China.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission said high levels of lead were found in a metal connector on a charm sold with Tiny Tink and Friends Children's Toy Jewelry Sets which were made in China.

Charms that have plastic tabs instead of metal rings are not included in the recall.

About 252-thousand of the sets were sold by retailers nationwide from November 2008 through November 2009.

The toys cost from six to eight dollars.

No injuries have been reported.

The CPC is urging parents to immediately take the toy away from children and contact Playmates Toys for a replacement part.

The California-based company has more information on the recall on its website at www.playmatestoys.com.

Consumers with questions can also call the company's hotline at 888-810-1133 during normal business hours.
