Statin Drugs At Best Ineffective, At Worse Deleterious

June 4, 2013 by Bob Livingston

Despite a massive increase in the use of statin drugs, Sweden saw no lowering of the rate of heart attacks in its population, according to a recent population-based study.
Researchers looked at the country’s population during the period from 1998 to 2003, when the use of statin drugs to control cholesterol levels increased more than threefold. They determined that:
Though [there was] a widespread and increasing utilization (sic) of statins, no correlation with AMI incidence/mortality in a general Swedish population, independent of age and gender, could be detected in this explorative study. The benefits shown in clinical trials could not be recognized despite that a high fraction of the population studied used statins.
Statins have been used in the United States since 1987. They were approved by the Food and Drug Administration as a pharmaceutical means to lower cholesterol by inhibiting an enzyme in the liver and other organs. They are among the most widely prescribed drugs in the world. Big Pharma companies like Merck and Pfizer have made billions in profits off of them and have been the main propagandists behind the myth that lower cholesterol levels reduce heart disease and arteriosclerosis.
The cholesterol myth is a monument to the lies, deceit and fraud of the pharmaceuticals and the government. It is so well established and so completely accepted by doctors that there is almost no inquiry into this crime of commerce.
Cholesterol drugs are bad for human health. They destroy CoQ10. They complicate general health in many ways. They have been shown to cause Type II diabetes, memory loss and other cognitive disorders. They cost the American people billions of dollars annually. Go here to learn why the body actually needs cholesterol.
The fact is deaths from heart disease and all other causes increased 11 percent for each 1 percent drop in cholesterol, according to a 30-year follow-up of the famous Framingham Study. Another fact is that when people maintain low levels of cholesterol in their blood over long periods of time with statin drugs, their risk of death from all causes increases.
