Biloxi council denies El Pueblo expansion

Biloxi — The City Council upheld the objections of the Biloxi Planning Commission and neighbors by turning down plans to relocate and expand The Village El Pueblo Outreach Services.

El Pueblo wanted to move from its 2,496-square-foot center on Judge Sekul Avenue to a 6,000-square-foot building around the corner at 224 Porter Ave. The directors also wanted to add a kitchen and provide meals, laundry facilities and showers for the homeless, along with a recovery mission for addicts.
