Those people are hurting! When in extreme pain, we often make poor decisions. We want to lash out, place blame, before we even know what happened. It is an emotional response rather than a logical response. You are responding emotionally, like those family members and friends. That doesn't make them right.
One of the Columbine fathers has also been making the rounds. But he, unlike these kids and parents, sees the need for prevention rather than retaliation. I'm sure he didn't feel that way back then.
