    Leftwing Indoctrination Exposed

Leftwing Indoctrination Exposed Written on Sunday, September 8, 2013 by John Risselada

Over the course of the past several months I have written many articles concerning my experience in education and how exposing the extreme left wing bias is essential if we are to retain any semblance of a constitutional republic in the years ahead. I have been very adamant in explaining my beliefs about this. This bias has to be exposed and the leftist professors have to be held to account for the lies they tell. Now I would love to be able to claim the events that took place this week at the University of Michigan were the result of the highly motivating and inspiring articles I have written but, I am sure they weren’t; and that’s even more inspiring because that means other people are getting fed up as well.

A student of Professor William Penn, who incidentally is a literature professor not a government professor, filmed this leftwing radical expressing his extreme leftist world view to the class. The student then sent the video to an organization called campusreform.org where it was put on the internet for all to see. Professor Penn began by calling republicans cheap and accusing them of paying no taxes while having off shore bank accounts. He then accused students who may be in disagreement with him “closet racists.” That happened in my class as well as we were accused of racism for not voting for Obama. This just further reinforces the belief that there is a leftist agenda revolving around race in our colleges. It doesn’t stop there, he goes on to accuse the republicans of engaging in voter suppression against blacks because blacks typically vote democratic, and republicans can’t have that now, can they? Yeah, we have a black president that everybody is increasingly unhappy with because of his socialist policies, and we are engaging in voter suppression. If that was the truth and everyone was so racist would we have a black president? This guys really reaching for straws.

On top of all of this the radical revolutionary actually begins insulting people’s parents and challenging the beliefs of those who disagree. It was like watching one of my own professors as they too were threatening and exercised their leftist academic fervor from a bully pulpit. If you pay attention to the students you can pick up on a nervous laughter as they are just going along to get along, afraid to question what is being said. This is called the Delphi technique which is specifically designed to root out naysayers and silence dissent. This is accomplished by bringing humiliation and shame to those that may disagree and in turn, coaxes those on the sidelines to want to avoid such embarrassment and ultimately, they just go along. I experienced it every day in the schools of social work at Northeastern State University and the University of Oklahoma.

Folks, what is being displayed on this video are the very reasons we have so many people in this country that display no ability to make sound decisions, think for themselves, express a solid understanding of what it means to live in a constitutional republic or even identify an important current event. I salute this lone student who filmed this left wing dingaling smack dab in the middle of executing his leftist worldview indoctrination. It shows that there are others out there who see what is going on and have decided that the future of the country is more important than the moment, or even the completion of his degree at the expense of remaining silent. Perhaps this one event will spark a new revolutionary movement in which we retain control of our culture and destiny.

Common Core…stealth jihad directed at America’s children

Posted on September 16, 2013 by Diane Sori

While we’re all focused on the Middle East right now, especially on Syria, a form of stealth jihad is sneaking into our country…a form of which affects all states…all schools…and all our children…and it’s name is Common Core.
Forced on the states by the Obama administration…enabled by Obama’s federal stimulus law…Common Core will be implemented this school year in the 46 states that have adopted it, thus eliminating local control over the kindergarten through12th grade curriculum in those states. The adoption of Common Core means that teaching becomes a one-size-fits-all affair that will NOT address the needs of the ‘special needs child’…neither the gifted child nor the slow learner…because NO deviation from the standard norm in teaching is allowed.
And there will be NO escaping Common Core as its curriculum and teaching methods will also apply to private schools and the home schooled. In fact, many Catholic and other private schools are adopting Common Core in preparation for college-entrance exams…exams that will be based on Common Core criteria.
Simply put…the truth about Common Core is that it will revamp America’s public educational system and NOT for the better as Common Core also allows for a rewriting of American history, with the new curriculum and accompanying textbooks showing a definite slant and bias towards islam, while at the same time mocking or ignoring America’s Judeo-Christian roots and values.
And with one of its most in-your-face leftist agenda aspects, the Common Core curriculum has, for example, replaced the world’s great literary works with what’s called ‘informational texts’…another name for government propaganda. Shakespeare, Hemingway, and the other literary giants will be replaced by ‘informational texts’ extolling the virtues of same-sex marriage, abortion, drug use, and the all-important acceptance of all things islam. Students in the lower grades will now divide their time between literature and these leftist writings until high school, when literary works will make up a mere 30% of English/Language Arts instruction.
And the teaching of math under Common Core guidelines means getting the right answer just does NOT matter anymore as long as the student can explain the faulty reasoning they used to get to that wrong answer. 2 + 2 = 5 is OK…just explain how you got that answer. And Common Core puts many students mathematically two years behind those of many high-achieving countries. For example, Algebra 1 would be taught in 9th grade NOT 8th grade as previously taught, making calculus inaccessible to them in high school, and this would affect top-tier college entrance requirements.
Also, contrary to the traditional American belief that justice is based on individual rights, Common Core teaches ‘Social Justice’ meaning teachers must teach that America is an unjust and oppressive society that should be changed.
And the most unbelievable of all is that Common Core is using our public schools, Catholic schools, and private schools to indoctrinate our children into islam. ’The Five Pillars of Islam’ are an integral part of Common Core teaching beginning in pre-k and lasting through the12th grade. For example, students have muslim beliefs lessons where they must watch videos, research pre-selected web sites, complete worksheets, and create posters about the duties of muslims.

I wonder if that includes a muslim’s duty to wage jihad…as written in the qur’an.
And even with all this, Common Core still self-promotes itself as a fair and just universal set of educational standards that will unite all students under a common learning system…under common leftist political beliefs…with a curriculum in place that proponents say is designed so that every student graduating from high school is prepared to either enter college or the workforce. But what proponents do NOT tell you is that Common Core actually lowers school standards negating the very thing they promote themselves as doing.
And Common Core is far from the educational panacea that most dissatisfied with our public system of education hoped for as Common Core remains…NO matter how it’s packaged and sold…a one size fits all form of education that ignores the fact that each child is unique…each child’s learning skills or lack thereof is unique…and each state’s educational guidelines are unique.
In fact, Common Core is actually ‘dumbed-down’ education with less teacher responsibility than ever before as there is NO incentive to reach for higher standards, as all states will be judged by the same mediocre national benchmark enforced by the federal government…the Obama federal government.
So while Common Core proponents are in total support of the already ‘too much in control’ federal government setting even more educational standards than they already do, they fail to accept the fact that the federal government should NOT be involved in public education at all nor should they be setting any educational standards as public schools should be under state, county, and local auspices with standards set within each school district to meet the needs of the students going to school in said district.
And when you add in the specific negatives in how Common Core was implemented ‘red flags’ should be waving in the faces of every parent with school age children…’red flags’ waving because Common Core was pushed through state legislatures by unelected bureaucrats who created the Common Core ‘standards’ using monies garnered from special interests groups…meaning there was NO legislative vote by elected officials reflecting the will of the people or the will of the parents.
And in addition to all the educational negatives, schools that have implemented Common Core have government permission to collect private data on each student including religion, medical, and psychological info, and to do so WITHOUT parental consent. WITHOUT parental consent… meaning once again the federal government is butting into our personal lives and doing so without a warrant or just cause…doing so simply because they can.
Also, Common Core does NOTHING to address how teachers actually teach for even with Common Core standards in place teachers will still be teaching to the test…maybe NOT the same tests that are now in effect…but standardized tests nevertheless…with the end result being that parents and teachers will have even less control over their child’s education than they do now.
So with a curriculum so deviated from the much needed basics…reading, writing, and arithmetic… with a curriculum that reeks of the leftist liberal political agenda…and with a curriculum that smells of Agenda 21 indoctrination….Common Core should be rejected by all school districts for the sake of our children…for Common Core is rotten to its very core.

FL conservative education reformers: Common Core is good policy

    By William Patrick / September 18, 2013

By William Patrick | Florida Watchdog
TALLAHASSEE – Several prominent conservative education reformers have a message to share about Common Core State Standards: it’s good policy.
courtesy of Florida Department of Education

COMMON CORE: Advocates say it’s about standards, not curriculum. But opponents are concerned about loss of state and local control.

That was the gist of an hour-long conference call with reporters Tuesday, hosted by former Gov. Jeb Bush’s Foundation for Florida’s Future.
The timing of the outreach was said to coincide with the beginning of the new school year, though it’s likely the call was also a messaging response to growing Common Core opposition.
One particular myth the group said it’s trying to dispel is that Common Core is a federal takeover of Florida’s public schools.
“We are not talking about a specific curriculum,” said state Rep. Erik Fresen, R-Miami, chair of the House Education Appropriation Subcommittee. “We are talking about what we’re expecting students to learn.”
That distinction was echoed by Cari Miller, policy advisor for the Foundation for Excellence in Education.
“Standards are not curriculum,” Miller said. “Standards are end of the year expectations and curriculum is what will be used to get students to meet those expectations.”
Each speaker painstakingly referred to Common Core as an improvement to Florida ‘s current education standards, and a needed system of measurement between states.
    But opponents aren’t buying it.
Opponent groups include Florida Parents Against Common Core, Floridians Against Common Core, Florida Stop Common Core, and even the left of center Badass Teachers Association.
Complaints range from excessive testing, to student data-mining, invasive U.S. Department of Education involvement and loss of state and local control.
A bill was also recently filed by state Rep. Debbie Mayfield, R-Vero Beach, that would put the brakes on Common Core if passed during the 2014 legislative session.
Mayfield’s bill, HB 25, would prohibit the state board of education from implementing any new English and math standards until the public could weigh-in during statewide hearings.
The proposal would also prohibit the state from ceding any control over curriculum to outside entities.
But there already seems to be broad agreement on that concern.
“You’re speaking to one of the most cynical people when it comes to the federalism of anything in this country,” Fresen said. “It’s about competition.”

Tennessee district borrows $5.2 million to pay for Common Core-required technology…

Posted by EAGNEWS on Sep 17, 2013

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Giving iPads to a roomful of kindergarteners seems more like the premise of a “Saturday Night Live” skit than a serious education policy. Follow Joe For America on Facebook! ipads young kidsBut the emphasis on learning technology for even the youngest students is a very real result of the new Common Core learning standards, as taxpayers in Tennessee’s Murfreesboro City school district are discovering. Last month, Murfreesboro City Schools Director Linda Gilbert announced the district didn’t “have the devices needed” to facilitate the new Common Core standards, “or the hardware to prepare for online assessments,” according to The Daily News Journal. In many of the 45 Common Core-aligned states, such as Tennessee, traditional paper-and-pencil testing is being replaced by computer-based assessments. To make Common Core testing work properly, districts have to ensure that students have access to computers, and that their schools have proper Internet connections and IT infrastructure. (Some Common Core states are designing their own student assessments, partly to save money.) The Murfreesboro City Council responded to that challenge last week by agreeing to purchase iPads for kindergarteners and first-graders and laptop computers for students in grades two through six. The city will pay for the technology infusion by issuing $5.2 million in bonds, reports The Murfreesboro Post. The district will use some of that money to pay for technology for teachers, as well as mundane things, such as infrastructure, carts, and cases, reports The Daily News Journal. “It’s just another price tag, and it’s pretty pricey,” admitted Vice Mayor Ron Washington during a meeting last month. School districts all across the U.S. are scrambling to find ways to pay for the new technology and curricula materials that are required in order for their schools to be Common Core compliant. The Pioneer Institute estimates states and school districts will have to spend roughly $16 billion to implement the new standards. While Common Core supporters say the added costs will lead to better and “deeper” learning among students, the fact is nobody knows how the new standards will affect public education, as they’ve never been field tested anywhere in the U.S.

What Obama Wants Your 5 Year Old To Know

    Dear Concerned American,
Warning: the following message is extremely disturbing and is for mature audiences, only. Unfortunately, the information contained within this message is being taught to our little children in classrooms across the country, because the Left wants to sexualize your kids and introduce a culture of “just do it if it feels good to you” into their educational development.
Obama wants to teach sex-ed to KINDERGARTNERS!
Ladies and gentlemen, the wolves are at the door, and those of us who want to maintain a moral society must fight to stop them.
Obama is coming for your kids. He wants to sexualize them through his United Nations curriculum known as “Common Core.” This program is a nationalized “dumbing down” of our kids and will create a standardized mediocrity.
COMMON CORE IS A BROAD LIBERAL TARGET ON THE BACK OF YOUR KIDS.
Parents and teachers are being completely removed from the education process and the government is stepping in to take over. Fax Congress right this minute and tell them to STOP COMMON CORE before it destroys the American educational system!
    What Is Common Core?
This has nothing to do with education. Common Core is a socialism change agent that is beginning now, and it will hook the youngest members of our communities—our children—into the net of police state government. Our schools are being told to ditch traditional literature and teach more “informational” texts, and the fuzzy math of the past has now become “whatever you say the answer is, we’ll believe as long as you can tell us how you FEEL about it.”
One of the agencies responsible for testing is the American Institute for Research, or AIR. They are the largest behavioral and social science research organization, and are focused on CHANGING BEHAVIOR. AIR distributes LGBT propaganda to schools and believes not only in the sexualization of children, but in labeling and counseling those children at a very young age.
The curriculum they produce and the data outcome of that will be stored in a massive database called inBloom, which will store your student’s name, address, social security number, blood type, hair color, weight, test scores, nicknames, religion, attitudes, income level, medical history, psychological evaluations, bus stop times and political affiliation. If you are in a private school you will still have to submit to this database. And if you are home-schooled, good luck finding a textbook that doesn’t incorporate the Common Core curriculum.

Our kids aren’t guinea pigs for the socialist movement! This program is going to absolutely KILL American innovation and competition. Test scores are dropping across the nation in states that have done Common Core pilots.
The foundation of the Common Core program is to influence and “NUDGE” our kids to embrace the United Nations Agenda 21 philosophy that socialism and blanket equality and environmental justice is best for the United States, and the capitalist structure we currently have is ruining people’s lives and destroying the world.
It is not voluntary, and there is no way to opt-out.
British philosopher and parliamentarian John Stuart Mill writes in On Liberty, “A general State education is a mere contrivance for molding people to be exactly like one another; and as the mold in which it casts them is that which pleases the predominant power in the government … it establishes a despotism over the mind, leading by natural tendency to one over the body.”
The Liberals are coming for the hearts, minds and BODIES of our children.
Mary Black is an educator who has fought Common Core for months and she says, “My review of the Common Core standards indicated that they were designed to teach students what to think and not how to think. The literary classics have been stripped and replaced with books promoting a socialist agenda.... It is certain that it will leave students unable to think for themselves.”
Only a handful of people know that something called Common Core exists, and very few know what it teaches! We desperately need you to help get the word out by sharing these messages and contacting your representatives to ask that they STOP Common Core from taking root in your local school system.
What Are They Teaching Our Kids?
The Common Core curriculum is based on values clarification and changing behavior. Our kids will be challenged to examine their morals and beliefs and question the traditional biblical definition of marriage.
Your kids are being told to QUESTION WHAT YOU, THE PARENT, TAUGHT THEM about sex, social issues, and the Bible. Because now only what the State says is acceptable, will be acceptable.
Some of the “suggested” texts include: government documents and technical manuals, like the EPA’s “Recommended Levels of Insulation” and Executive Order 13423: Strengthening Federal Environmental, Energy, and Transportation Management.
Elementary school standards state, “Human activities, such as the release of greenhouse gases from burning fossil fuels, are major factors in the current rise in Earth’s mean surface temperature (global warming).”
This is 1984 indoctrination, happening right now in our schools. It is up to us, and only us, to stop this program before it spreads like a virus throughout America. Fax Congress and tell them we know all about Common Core and we want to save American education!

And, then, there is the sexualization aspect. Planned Parenthood helped write the “National Sexuality Education Standards.” Your child might come home having learned that, ““Testing your ability to function sexually and to give pleasure to another may be less threatening in the early teens with people of your own sex.”
By the end of 2nd grade, “students should be able to identify different kinds of family structures.”
By the end of 5th grade, “students should be able to define sexual orientation as the romantic attraction of an individual to someone of the same gender or different gender.”
Reading assignments for 16 and 17 year olds includes Toni Morrison’s “The Bluest Eye,” which details incest, rape and pedophilia in extremely graphic language. We have not included excerpts in this message because we do not want to offend anyone; however, we suggest you go to TheBlaze.com and look up the passages that have been included there. We guarantee they will make YOU blush…and it will make you furious to know that your high school kids are going to be required to read those words.
Planned Parenthood has funded Common Core so they can get into the classroom and teach your kids that every kind of sex is right, and the only “unsafe” thing is getting pregnant. Watch the video “Hooking Kids on Sex” and see for yourself what Planned Parenthood is going to be putting in our schools through Common Core.
Gerald Hannon of The Gay Lesbian Straight Educational Network (GLSEN) says that one of the biggest challenges the gay movement faces is “recruiting” young people to the “movement.”
A GLSEN activist who also happens to be a kindergarten teacher, Jaki Williams, says that Kindergarten is when “the saturation process needs to begin.”
Who Believes Nationalized Education is Important?
Hitler. Stalin. Obama. Karl Marx says in his Communist Manifesto that government-controlled education is “essential” to achieving the goals of socialism.
Remember Bill Ayers, the old domestic terrorist buddy of Obama’s who liked to blow up things? Ayers is a “neo-Stalinist” who visited Cuba and Venezuela to talk about education being the “motor force of revolution.”
Saul Alinksy’s Rules for Radicals, coming right to your child’s classroom.
Obama’s Education Secretary Arne Duncan says his goals “can only be achieved by creating a strong cradle-to-career continuum that starts with early childhood learning and extends all the way to college and careers. Education is still the key to eliminating gender inequities, to reducing poverty, to creating a sustainable planet, and to fostering peace.”
    Why Should You Care?
Home-schoolers and private schools are not safe! Homeschool organizations are already lining their learning materials up with Common Core and the testing standards are going to be the same when it comes to taking the ACT and SAT tests.
Senator Charles Grassley (R-IA) has been leading the movement against Common Core in the Senate, and Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (R-MO) is working in the House. They have enlisted help from colleagues to fight the curriculum.
Ironically, states adopted Common Core because they were broke and needed the stimulus money Obama dangled in front of them—but that was just for the first year or so. Ultimately, the Common Core program is going to cost state governments—and taxpayers--$16 BILLION. So, who will the winner be here? You guessed it: the federal government and the Liberals in Charge.
Also ironic: the Left, always concerned with diversity and what divides us and how everyone should be sensitive to the needs of special interest and minority groups, suddenly decides everyone is vanilla when it comes to education. Suddenly, a classroom in an inner city becomes the same as one in the rural Midwest, the same as one in an upscale white collar community, the same as one in a mid-size, middle class industrial town.
Texas has rejected it and is standing firm—other states have said no, but not to all the standards. Indiana, Michigan and South Carolina are concerned. Florida, Oklahoma, Alabama and Utah are fighting back against the testing standards. A single school district in Colorado, Douglas County, unanimously rejected Common Core and put in place its own higher quality standards. Opposition is happening, we just need to alert our representatives and take back control of our education system before Obama and his supporters ruin it entirely.
When we say “the future of America is at stake,” we absolutely mean it. Our children and the education they receive are the key to future generations and the direction we take this country. Don’t let the Liberals dumb everyone down and create a nationalized, socialist state…stop Common Core right now! Also, we beg you to forward this message to everyone you know and make sure they get involved in the fight to stop Common Core.
The federal government has no business in our schools—kick them out. End the Common Core program before it creates a nation of immoral, Leftist sheep. This is an urgent request to fax Congress now.
    Sincerely,
    Joe Otto

S.C. School District’s Detailed Response to TheBlaze’s Exclusive Report on ‘Widely Adopted’ Textbook With Flawed 2nd Amendment Definition

    Sep. 18, 2013 5:06pm Jason Howerton

The South Carolina school district currently utilizing a U.S. history textbook with a disputed interpretation of the Second and Third Amendments responded to TheBlaze’s exclusive report in great detail on Wednesday.
In an emailed statement, a spokesman for Greenville County Schools confirmed that Hillcrest High School in Simpsonville, S.C., has received “several emails and phone calls” expressing concern over how the textbook, “The Americans,” defines the Second Amendment.
Oby G. Lyles, Sr., the director of communications at Greenville County Schools, told TheBlaze that the district has “looked into the matter and found that page 149 of the state-adopted textbook does not accurately present the Second Amendment.”
“It states that citizens have the right to bear arms as members of a militia of citizen-soldiers,” he added. “This is not accurate. We will inform our high school social studies teachers that they should refer to page 166 of the textbook which accurately presents the Amendment (as originally ratified).”

The textbook, considered by the American Textbook Council (ATC) to be a “widely adopted” history book across the country, is also “state-adopted” in South Carolina, TheBlaze has learned. In other words, Hillcrest High School is far from the only school impacted.
But that could potentially change soon — at least in South Carolina.
Lyles informed TheBlaze that the “State Department of Education (DOE) was notified of this issue so they can take appropriate action.” Any future action will be determined by the state DOE.
As TheBlaze exclusively reported on Tuesday, the high school-level history textbook defines the Second Amendment as “the right to bear arms as members of a state militia.” The book also strangely groups the Second and Third Amendments together in a confusing way that could easily be misconstrued as to mean the right to bear arms is directly linked to preventing the government from housing troops during peacetime, which is not the case.

Teachers in the Greenville County school district will be instructed that page 149 of the textbook, which includes the faulty information, is entirely “incorrect,” and that they should direct students to a different page that he says contains the accurate definitions.

Lyles also noted that several emails sent to the principal of Hillcrest High School referenced the Common Core State Standards (CCSS). “Please note this textbook was adopted in 2005, long before any discussion of the CCSS,” he explained. ”Most of our high schools use this textbook.”
TheBlaze revealed the connection between Common Core and Perfection Learning, the publisher of a different advanced placement history book that also linked gun rights directly to membership in a state militia. The book is titled, “United States History: Preparing for the Advanced Placement Examination.”
However, we have found no information indicating that the publisher of “The Americans,” Rand McNally, develops its educational material around Common Core standards.
Lyles said officials at Greenville County Schools are also working to determine if any of its schools use the aforementioned AP history book.
“If so, we will also notify high schools,” he told TheBlaze.

Texas textbook has a curious definition of the 2nd Amendment

Tuesday, Sep 17, 2013 at 11:28 AM PDT

    video at link below

On radio this morning, Glenn shared a story that has gained major traction on TheBlaze. Controversy is growing around a U.S. history textbook used in a school district in Denton, Texas that has a curious definition of the Second Amendment.

“There’s a story on TheBlaze that is an absolute must‑read. It’s the most read story on TheBlaze,” Glenn said. “The question is how do you teach the Bill of Rights? Now, me personally, I think the Bill of Rights is pretty simple. I mean they are all like a couple of lines, you know? Maybe the quartering of soldiers in your house might need to be explained a little bit, but I’m pretty sure that everything else is pretty self‑explanatory. Well, not according to the textbooks now in Denton, Texas.”
According to United States History: Preparing for the Advanced Placement Examination, which acts as a study guide for the Advanced Placement U.S. history test, the Second Amendment says: “The people have the right to keep and bear arms in a state militia.”
“Oops,” Pat said. “That is not the Second Amendment.”
Below is the page from the textbook in question:
Source: “United States History: Preparing for the Advanced Placement Examination”
The Denton Independent School District maintains that the text is “supplemental,” and the schools are “disseminating the correct information on the Second Amendment” from other texts.
But, as TheBlaze reports, other schools appear to be using the text as well.

While the primary focus of the outrage has been on the description of the Second Amendment, Glen found another problem with the text.
“Here’s the First Amendment: ‘Congress may make no laws that infringe on its citizens’ right to religion, speech, press, assembly and petition. Congress may not favor one religion over another (separation of church and state).’”
“No, there’s no such clause,” Pat said. “No such clause as it won’t favor one religion over another. Doesn’t say anything about that.”
“There’s no such clause as ‘separation of church and state.’ What are you talking about,” Glenn asked. “This is craziness. It is absolute craziness, and it is in a textbook here in Texas. Wake up.”

Exclusive: School Teaches Students it’s Constitutional for Cops to Confiscate Guns

    September 18, 2013

South Carolina parents were furious this week after seeing questions regarding the Constitution – in particular the Second Amendment – as taught in their daughter’s 8th grade history class. The daughter’s teacher had given the class a pop quiz regarding the Constitution. Question 10 asked, “Mr. Jones’ gun was confiscated at a police traffic stop, even though he had the proper permit and license of ownership of the gun. Is this Constitutional?” The student originally answered “no,” but the teacher told daughter to change her answer to “yes.” See picture below.

This is not a unique event. Just this week, another report emerged in Texas of an Advanced Placement (AP) textbook presenting a modified version of the Second Amendment. The textbook’s wording indicated that only police and military were allowed to have guns with the wording “The people have the right to keep and bear arms in a state militia.”

AP textbooks and exams are created by the College Board, an organization which has participated in the implementation of Common Core, the already-invasive and controversial set of education “standards” organized for the Federal Government and pushed on states with financial incentives and a lack of transparency. People have already found disturbing lessons in the program, such as teaching children to argue on an emotional level to manipulate people into accepting social change.
This educational push for the modification of the Second Amendment comes at the time of an intense and multifaceted, nationwide battle over gun rights. This battle, prompted by the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting in Connecticut, has been fought in both the legislative and cultural spheres. Attorney General Eric Holder, however, was the first to indicate it should be brought into the educational sphere when he said people should be “brainwashed” about guns.
“I’ve also asked the school board to make a part of every day some kind of anti-violence, anti-gun message,” he said in a video released in March 2012. He went on to say “It’s not enough to have a catchy ad on a Monday and then only do it every Monday. We need to do this every day of the week and reallybrainwashpeople into thinking about guns in a vastly different way.”

Bias in education has been in the spotlight multiple times since 2008. It’s clear that there is a nationwide push to change the understanding of the Second Amendment in the next generation. Now parents are concerned that the school systems are being used to push a leftist agenda instead of educating students with the skills needed to excel in their careers.

Editor’s note: The pop quiz was given to Benswann.com as a tip. The parents and student live in Campobello, S.C. and wanted to remain anonymous.

Common Core causing huge rift between Jeb Bush and conservatives

Common Core causing huge rift between Jeb Bush and conservatives

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush is seen as a likely Republican presidential candidate in 2016, but his unflinching commitment to the Common Core standards experiment is souring many GOP voters on his campaign even before it officially begins. Jeb BushTurning off potential supporters is a risk Bush seems willing to take. Follow Joe For America on Facebook! During his recent speech to the National Press Club, Bush berated Common Core critics – many of whom are conservative Republicans who will vote in the presidential primaries – for being “comfortable with mediocrity” in K-12 education. “There are a lot of people that believe that somehow this is a national takeover of what is the domain of local and state governments … ,” Bush said, according to the Tampa Bay Times. “But in fact these are 45 states that have voluntarily come together to create fewer, higher, deeper standards that, when you benchmark them to the best of the world, they are world class.” Bush went on to blast critics as behaving in a “purely political” manner. “Meanwhile, back at the ranch, we have huge swaths of the next generation of Americans that can’t calculate math. They can’t read. Their expectations in their own lives are way too low. And we’re not going to be able to sustain this extraordinarily exceptional country unless we challenge every basic assumption on how we do things,” Bush said. None of his arguments impressed conservative author and columnist Michelle Malkin, who refutes many of Bush’s talking points in her latest column. “If you question Jeb Bush and his Big Business/Big Government cronies, you stand foursquare against student achievement and intellectual rigor,” Malkin writes. “Pay attention, all you informed moms and dads who have raised pointed, carefully researched questions about the costs, quality, validity, constitutionality and intrusiveness of Common Core. Bush thinks you are ‘purely political’ beasts who are recklessly harming your own kids’ scholastic advancement.” Malkin cites several highly respected scholars who have given the thumbs down to the new Common Core math and English standards, and debunks the notion that states adopted the standards without federal coercion. She also explains that “Bush’s educational foundation, the Foundation for Excellence in Education, is tied at the hip to the federally funded testing consortium called PARCC (Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers), which raked in $186 million through Race to the Top to develop nationalized tests ‘aligned’ to the top-down Common Core program.” The former governor’s foundation is also linked to “Pearson, the multi-billion-dollar educational publishing and testing conglomerate” that “snagged $23 million in contracts to design the first wave of PARCC test items,” Malkin writes. She concludes by urging readers to “follow the money” trail that exists between Bush and the companies who stand to profit from Common Core. As blistering as Malkin’s criticism is, it’s only a foretaste of what Bush can expect, if and when he formally announces his presidential aspirations.
