Congressional Republicans Punish Rep. Steve King Over Slanderous NYT Hit Piece—Didn’t Even Bother To Find Out The Truth!
(Tea Party PAC) – Our outrage culture has gotten completely out of control, but it is the fault of Republicans and conservatives who kowtow to the leftist hysteria over every little thing that could possibly be interpreted as “racist” “sexist” or “homophobic” that is destroying reasonable dialogue in our nation.
Case in point: Rep. Steve King has been barred from sitting on any Congressional committee following a NYT hit piece that completely misconstrued comments he once made. Congressional Republicans didn’t even bother to find out the truth!
Do we really have this many members of the GOP in the House who take the NYT more seriously than they do their colleagues? This is outrageous!

On Thursday, NYT reporter Trip Gabriel published a piece on King that quoted him as saying “White nationalist, white supremacist, Western civilization — how did that language become offensive? Why did I sit in classes teaching me about the merits of our history and our civilization?”
This was immediately interpreted as King expressing support of white supremacy, because leftists look for support of white supremacy wherever they can possibly find it because, much to their chagrin, few people in this nation are actually white supremacists anymore.
King explained the TRUTH of the matter in a statement to the Gateway Pundit:
One of my quotes in a New York Times story has been completely mischaracterized. Here’s the context I believe accurately reflects my statement.
In a 56 minute interview, we discussed the changing use of language in political discourse. We discussed the worn out label “racist” and my observation that other slanderous labels have been increasingly assigned to Conservatives by the Left, who injected into our current political dialog such terms as Nazi, Fascist, “ White Nationalist, White Supremacist,— Western Civilization, how did THAT language become offensive? Why did I sit in classes teaching me about the merits of our history and our civilization?”…just to watch Western Civilization become a derogatory term in political discourse today. Clearly, I was only referencing Western Civilization classes. No one ever sat in a class listening to the merits of white nationalism and white supremacy.
When I used the word “THAT” it was in reference ONLY to Western Civilization and NOT to any previously stated evil ideology ALL of which I have denounced.
My record as a vocal advocate for Western Civilization is nearly as full as my record in defense of Freedom of Speech.
Now this makes perfect sense, and is far more believable than the trash published by the New York Times.
It’s one thing for the left to eat this garbage up, they look for reasons to be offended.
But shame on Congressional Republicans for bowing to their will! They should absolutely know better than to buy into this manufactured hysteria.
