    2 Killed, 30 Wounded In Weekend Shootings Across Chicago

    CHICAGO (STMW) — Two men were killed and at least 30 other people were wounded in shootings across Chicago between Friday night and Monday morning.

    The latest homicide happened Sunday morning in the South Side Englewood neighborhood.

    Officers found 26-year-old Andre D. Donner Jr. with a gunshot wound to the head about 10 a.m. in the 7200 block of South May, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.


    Donner was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he died within the hour, police said. He lived in the 7000 block of South Lowe.


    Another South Side shooting turned fatal Friday night in Washington Heights.


    About 10:30 p.m., crews found 19-year-old Joseph Graves unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the back of the head in the 700 block of West 92nd Street, authorities said.


    Graves, who lived in the 8400 block of South Green, was dead at the scene. He was a sophomore studying business at Northern Illinois University who had graduated from Simeon Career Academy in the Chatham neighborhood.


    The most recent nonfatal attack happened early Monday in the Albany Park neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

    A 27-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman were driving in a vehicle in the 3700 block of West Leland at 4:47 a.m. when they both felt pain, police said. The man was shot in the right elbow and was taken to Swedish Covenant Hospital, while the woman suffered a gunshot wound to the left thigh and was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center. They were both listed in good condition.

    About an hour earlier, a 49-year-old man was shot in the West Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side. He was in his girlfriend’s apartment in the 200 block of South Kilbourn Avenue at 3:57 a.m. when her son shot him in the thigh, police said. The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was stabilized. As of early Monday, no one was in custody in connection with the shooting.


    At 9:05 p.m. Sunday, another man was injured in a separate West Garfield Park shooting. The 20-year-old was walking in the 3900 block of West Jackson Boulevard when he felt pain to his head. He told officers he did not see or hear anything. The man suffered a graze wound to the head and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.


    Early Sunday, a 26-year-old man was seriously wounded in a gunfight that prompted two Chicago Police officers to open fire in Wrigleyville. It happened about 3 a.m. near Racine and Patterson, where two groups of people started shooting at each other and he was struck in the upper back, police said. Someone drove him to Presence Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, where he was listed in serious condition.


    At least 25 other people have been wounded in shootings across the city between 7 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Monday.


    Additionally, a 23-year-old man was arrested after a 5-year-old boy accidentally shot himself in the hand Saturday afternoon in the Washington Park neighborhood.


    Myles Mitchell, of the 2000 block of South Michigan Avenue, was charged with misdemeanor counts of child endangerment and unlawful use of a weapon, police said.

    The shooting occurred in the 5900 block of South Calumet Avenue at 4:25 p.m. The boy was taken to University of Chicago Medicine Comer Children’s Hospital in good condition with a self-inflicted wound, police said.

    About 9:40 p.m., a 43-year-old man was sitting in a parked vehicle in the 5000 block of West Chicago when someone walked up and shot him in the neck and back, police said. The person got into a white SUV and fled eastbound.

    The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition, police said.

    Two men, ages 21 and 22, were shot about 7:08 p.m. in the 6100 block of South King Drive, police said.

    Both were taken to Stroger Hospital, police said. The older man was shot in the left side and listed in critical condition, while the younger man was shot in the back and the leg. His condition had stabilized, police said.
    About 20 minutes earlier, a teen boy was shot in Bronzeville.
    The 17-year-old was shot in the right hip in the 4500 block of South Vincennes, police said. He was taken to Mercy Hospital and Medical Center in fair condition.
    A 16-year-old boy was shot in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side Monday evening.
    At 5:27 p.m., the teen was walking in an alley in the 500 block of West 61st Street when he head shots and felt pain. Three people were seen running southbound from the alley after the shooting, police said.
    The teen suffered a gunshot wound to the upper back and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in critical condition, police said.
    At 2:44 p.m., a 16-year-old boy was walking in the 1200 block of East 79th Street when a someone wearing a gray camouflage hoodie walked up to him, fired shots and then ran away through an alley, police said.
    The boy suffered a gunshot wound to the back and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in serious condition, but he had stabilized, police said.
    Another teen boy was shot about noon in the West Pullman neighborhood on the Far South Side.
    The 16-year-old was shot in the right leg at 116th and Harvard, and was listed in good condition at the scene, police said.
    Less than an hour earlier, a man was injured in a drive-by shooting in South Shore. The 27-year-old was in the 1500 block of East 73rd Street at 11:25 a.m. when shots were fired by someone in a silver vehicle, police said.
    He was shot in the left calf and taken in good condition to Jackson Park Hospital and Medical Center, police said.
    Three hours earlier, another man was shot in South Shore. At 8:12 a.m., the 23-year-old was shot in the foot in the 1300 block of East 76th Street. He was taken to Jackson Park Hospital and Medical Center in good condition, police said.
    Just before 9 a.m., three men were shot in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.
    They were in the 3100 block of West Monroe at 8:55 a.m. when they heard shots and felt pain, police said.
    A 21-year-old was shot in the back and taken in critical condition to Stroger Hospital, police said. A 19-year-old man was shot in the leg and also taken to Stroger, where his condition stabilized. A 23-year-old was shot in the leg and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was stabilized.
