No, it's not related to immigration directly. (I probably should move this thread into 'Other...' because of that too, thanks for pointing that out - I've only had 1 coffee so far...)

No, his speech was not in relation to any given pending piece of legislation - it was more of the variety: "Here Senators, listen to what the people that we represent are dealing with nowadays.." - A big dose of reality from people they rarely hear about.

    Gogo,

Doesn't everything related to this financial fiasco eventually lead back to illegal immigration? I've never taken a dime from the government but apparently the government wants to give businesses and illegals money while I pay for it, so why shouldn't I be taking it as well before its all gone. Either way, this $55 trillion dollar fiasco the country is in including social security and medicare, will never be paid off, we will become insolvent, there is no way out especially since wages are going down, down, down for most of us. So, not to take anything while our money has been given to every and anybody and not spent on services like the protection of our country, I'm at the point where I don't really give a crap anymore. As I continue to pay in, my interest are not served, my money stolen by the government given to illegals, businesses, rich people and even used against my family to lower my overall net worth, my pride has turned from being a proud contributer to not being a sucker while my money is stolen and used against my and other Americans interest, while everyone else seems to be taking and making out like a rose.

If peoples wages are desimated by illegals coming here and causing wages to fall, then it doesn't matter how cheap you by a house for or how cheap your bills are, as long as illegals come here and keep working cheaper and cheaper, which drives the wages down cheaper and cheaper then eventually you are going to be in financial ruin again, its just a matter of time. As everything is devalued every loan along the way is insolvent. Just as the person that buys a house today at todays drasticly reduced prices, in a year from now we'll find out those prices were over inflated as well, because as wages get lower and lower and people can't pay for them, and the price of a home is only worth what someone will pay, if people can't buy it for that now high price, the value is less and less. This really is a race to the bottom of the barrel. You buy a house now and chances are in another year, it won't be worth as much. Whats amazing is these houses are supposedly worth so little but you couldn't build them for the low prices that they are selling for. That should tell you the market is full of crap right there. How can a house not be worth as much as it would cost to build it?

    Screw the bastonions.

Letters written to Sanders that are posted on his website:

A page that has a recorded segment about the same letters - of which he reads a few in this online posted video:

I think, PhredE, that we have a few good people from our state in DC. Smith, I believe, would agree, and I also think that Peter DeFazio would, but certainly my own congressman, Earl Blumenauer would not.

As liberal as Oregon has shown itself to be publically, I also have to believe that all over, most Oregonians are really consevatives, they just do get involved politically, most times due to their busy lives (I have seen it, and am becoming a product of that busy personal life getting in the way of being able to do more).

AE: Yes, I agree on all that. Blumenauer is hopeless. Wu isn't much, if any, better. My Rep is Hooley - she's mediocre on illegal immigration/mass legal worker importation issue - and I have to think that her leaving will probably be a benefit to our side in the long run.

Walden and DeFazio are the ones that stand out (ABI scores of B+, B) on our issue. DeFazio has the nice quality of most closely resembling a true populist.

Ahhh, Listening to the Congresswoman talk on CNN about bailing out everyone out of this housing crisi means one thing .....
We are now in an official facsist and socialist society with a twist of communism (more to come on that part). This is not the free market at work. The congress taked about getting this ecomony stabil but the only way that will happen is to stop illegal immigration, as I have seen illegals work for as little as $3 an hour in Charlotte, NC. How are we going to stablize the economy while we're letting in millions more illegals and legal immigrants into the country? There is only one way and that is to let the wages of 30 to 50% of the workers fall to minimum wage, there is the backstop. Sure they will raise the minimum wage to $9 an hour and then we'll have 50% of Americans working for $9 an hour. I've seen jobs that paid $15 an hour back in 2000 posted on internet job sites paying $7 to $8 an hour starting out and they want you to have a couple years experience. I also saw a job posted that wanted a graphic designer with a college degree and you supplied your own computer and software (it was on a contract basis) and the pay was $8 an hour. They want you to have your own $1,200 woth of software and your own $1,000 computer and want to pay $8 an hour? Of course I emailed them and blasted them for the job post.

On CNN they said the bottom 1/3 of workers wages fell 3% over the last 10 years. the middle 1/3 had a .9% gain in wages and the top 1/3 had an increase of 9% in wages. Doesn't that tell the story of what illegal immigration and too much legal immigration does? Doesn't that tell you that 75% of all the jobs BUSH has created have been totally slave driven jobs?

We hear senator Dodd and all these other senators talk about the housing crisis but they never want to address the problem that brought it all on which is illegal immigration. They always want to harp on the 5% unemployment rate which we know is an out right lie. Thye keep saying that so they can justify their reason to let more immigrants come in on visa's when we all know damn well the unemployment rate is at least 15% and the jobs that are available are crap. Fist off, they won't factor in the 30 million illegals that are in the country in the uneployment figures, lets say 15 million of those work somewhere and then take into consideration that people supposedly stopped looking for work and then the people that they're unemployment benefits ran out. I'll guarantee you the rate is more like 15% if not more. We know in the black community unemployment is like 26%. I saw all these stats online a while back, I think it was the center for immigration studies or somehwere had a graph of the true unemployment figures and they are always higher where large amounts of illegals are.

I'm so sick of these crooks!.

Yeah PhredE, DeFazio is not either of ours, but he has been good from day one. I hope he tries to move himself up and maybe into more influential positions. I wish we all had more like him in this country.

As for Blumenauer, I fell all too many times, as well as with Wyden, that emailing or calling their offices in a lost cause and wasted time, they are such libertards!
