The collapse of civilisation is “on the horizon” unless world leaders take urgent action to cut carbon emissions, Sir David Attenborough has claimed.

The veteran BBC broadcaster and climate change alarmist issued the message at the opening ceremony of the UN climate conference in Poland on Monday, where delegates from 200 countries will spend two weeks planning how to make emissions reductions outlined in the 2015 Paris Agreement operational.
A study released to coincide with the event warned that progress in adopting the pledges, which include Western nations transferring $100bn of their taxpayers’ cash a year to poorer countries by 2020, was threatened by U.S. President Donald Trump and the ‘America First’ approach which saw the president announce the country’s withdrawal from the agreement in June.

Attenborough said: “Right now we are facing a manmade disaster of global scale, our greatest threat in thousands of years: climate change. If we don’t take action, the collapse of our civilisations and the extinction of much of the natural world is on the horizon.”

Delivering his address from ‘The People’s Seat’, where the celebrity was supposed to be representing citizens’ views at the plenary, he said: “The world’s people have spoken. Time is running out. They want you, the decision-makers, to act now.
“Leaders of the world, you must lead. The continuation of civilisations and the natural world upon which we depend is in your hands.”

Attenborough’s assertion that “the world’s people” were crying out to see their governments enact punishing measures to drive down carbon emissions was perhaps somewhat controversial a claim to make at a time when France has seen three weeks of protest against massive fuel tax hikes which President Emmanuel Macron alleged were necessary “to wean the French people off fossil fuels”, according to the BBC.
Earlier in the day, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called the event “the most important gathering on climate change since the Paris Agreement was signed”, lamenting that world leaders “are still not doing enough, nor moving fast enough, to prevent irreversible and catastrophic climate disruption.”
While insisting that the world needs “more political will and more far-sighted leadership” to reduce carbon emissions, the UN boss is a major advocate for open borders — a policy which would vastly increase global CO2 output through transferring populations from low-polluting parts of the world to rich nations where residents have far higher carbon footprints.

UN’s Solution to Climate Change: End Capitalism

    Commentary By Nicolas Loris @NiconomistLoris

What will it take to keep the planet habitable?
According to some eco-warriors, all that’s necessary is to end capitalism—the one economic system that has lifted billions from poverty and suffering.
The latest United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change report led Eric Holthaus, a Grist writer, to tweet enthusiastically, “The world’s top scientists just gave rigorous backing to systematically dismantle capitalism as a key requirement to maintaining civilization and a habitable planet.”
The sentiment is not new. Three years ago, while pushing for the Paris Climate Accord, U.N. climate official Christiana Figueres described the strategy this way:
“This is the first time in the history of mankind that we are setting ourselves the task of intentionally, within a defined period of time, to change the economic development model that has been reigning for at least 150 years, since the Industrial Revolution.”
To accomplish such a feat, the new report proposes an energy tax of epic proportions. It claims that, to keep warming in check, by 2030 we’ll need to impose a tax of between $135 and $5,500 on every ton of carbon emitted.
And that’s just for starters. By the end of the century, the authors say, we’ll have to jack the tax up to as much as $27,000 per ton.
How would that play out in the real world, where conventional carbon-emitting fuels currently generate about 80 percent of all energy consumed? Carbon taxes of the magnitude suggested in the report would bankrupt families and businesses and trigger a global economic disaster.
Using the same model as the federal government’s Energy Information Administration, Heritage Foundation analysts estimated the economic impacts of a $37 per ton carbon tax—less than a third of the panel’s lowest recommendation.
The model indicates that, at $37 per ton, the tax would reduce U.S. aggregate gross domestic product by more than $2.5 trillion over the next 17 years. That translates to more than $21,000 in lost income, per family. It would also destroy more than a million jobs, half of them in energy-intensive manufacturing sectors.
The higher the tax goes, the greater the economic damage. At $135 per ton, the model crashes. These costs are far higher than most Americans are willing to pay.
According to a poll from the Energy Policy Institute at the University of Chicago and the AP-NORC Center for Public Research Affairs, only a little more than half of us would shell out as much as a buck a month to reduce carbon emissions. At $20 a month, the poll found, only 27 percent of the public is willing to pay to combat climate change. Even among households earning more than $100,000, only 46 percent were willing to pay as much as $20 a month.
For zealous eco-warriors eager to impose far more expensive carbon taxes, that’s not very encouraging.
And it’s bound to be doubly discouraging when they consider that these polls failed to mention that, while high taxes would destroy the globe’s economic system, they would produce virtually no “climate benefit” at all.
In the developing world, more than 1.4 billion people still suffer from energy poverty. The U.N. report means nothing to them. Their priority is gaining access to energy and the economic growth it allows. They will continue to increase their greenhouse gas emissions, no matter how loudly the U.N. sirens blare.
Yes, developing countries are spending money on green technologies, but they’re also building a lot of new coal plants. The current and projected use of fossil fuels, including coal, almost certainly guarantees that the report’s reduction targets won’t be met through some massive energy overhaul.
Screaming that the sky is falling hasn’t worked well for climate activists in the past, and there’s little evidence that will change. Offering solutions to climate change that would require a complete makeover of the global economy and plunge developed nations into deprivation are unrealistic and counterproductive.

The very same climate change lunatics who told us we would all be dead by now are demanding we surrender to authoritarianism to save the world

(Natural News) The integrity and validity of the United Nations is now in question after climate change lunatics took over the 2018 Climate Conference to demand financial servitude and global surrender to authoritarianism.
At the opening ceremony of the United Nations Climate Conference, Poland’s Sir David Attenborough began a ruse about climate change being “our greatest threat in thousands of years.” Attenborough warned that civilization is about to collapse, that the world is “facing a man-made disaster of global scale.”
“Time is running out,” he said, calling on global leaders to “act now.” What kind of action do climate change lunatics want? They want the world’s banks to invest hundreds of billions of dollars into their idea so they can supposedly find ways to reduce Earth’s temperature. It’s an over-hyped, one-sided, and uncanny proposal, but the authoritarians who want to manipulate the world economy and dictate the weather using geo-engineering are the ones hoping they can convince the world of this farce. The World Bank has already pledged to hand out $200 billion over five years to countries that take action on “climate change.” (Related: How Al Gore became the world’s first carbon billionaire.)
“Climate change” hysteria is about authoritarian control

Instead of promoting an abstract concept such as “climate change,” world leaders should be discussing actual strategies that enhance environmental and human health for adaptation to everything that is uncertain. Instead, climate change lunatics are certain that man’s actions are causing a global rise in temperature and propose that population control, taxation, and authoritarian rule is the ultimate solution.
“Climate change” should not be used to beckon financial subservience to some inane goal of removing carbon dioxide from the Earth. Isn’t carbon dioxide the very compound that spurs plant growth? Why are climate lunatics striving to control something that will cause climate consequences?
“Climate change” should be observed first as a natural occurrence, not as something that can be controlled through perpetual geoengineering of the atmosphere with experimental particles. The dire problem is that the elite want to reign over the skies and banking system with no regard to human health and environmental consequences imposed by their controlling experiments. In the short and long term, weather, climate, precipitation, and temperature all fluctuate, no matter where people live. Climate data is easily skewed and cherry-picked to prove the need for “financing solutions” that are just attempts for economic and population control.
While there are real environmental crimes occurring throughout the world, the world leaders at the U.N. Climate Conference are more worried about getting billions of dollars in financing for projects that aim to control the weather, block out the sun’s light, and eliminate the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Even the mainstream media have come clean about chemtrails, how they will be used to fight “climate change.” If climate alarmists cared about “saving the world” then they would bring awareness and work toward ending the chemical pollution of the world via agro-chemicals, heavy metals, bio sludge fertilizers (pharmaceutical-infused human waste) radiation, and industrial smog, among other real problems.
Ironically, with all the jets carrying world leaders across the globe, the climate summit will be responsible for 55,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions (the very problem U.N. officials are complaining about.) According to EPA figures, this amount of CO2 is equivalent to the amount emitted by 8,243 American homes. Instead of restricting America’s energy consumption and ridding the planet of ordinary people, maybe it’s more prudent to rid the world of the global elite and restrict their behaviors. They are the ones actually causing excessive CO2 emissions, burning through resources, and ignoring real environmental health threats as they inflate the world’s money supply for authoritarian rule and manipulation of the weather which would inflict even more consequences.
