Mexico’s federal commission on economic competition says the two companies can carry on with a new joint venture on flights between their nations.
However, they must give up landing slots at Mexico City’s highly congested airport.
The two airlines would have to give up slots equivalent to those used by Delta in 2015.
The commission said Monday that the two airlines would also have to drop one of the two companies’ flight designations on routes they share.
