Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez backed an effort Saturday by a group called the Justice Democrats, which opposes “Democratic incumbents who are demographically and ideologically out-of-touch with their districts.”

The Justice Democrats helped Ocasio-Cortez oust veteran Rep. Joe Crowley (D-NY) in a primary in New York’s 14th congressional district earlier this year.
In a tweet, she supported the Justice Democrats’ new “#OurTime” campaign:
Since winning her election Nov. 6, Ocasio-Cortez has continued to challenge the Democratic Party leadership, joining a sit-in protest in the office of House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) over climate change policy.
Though she has not yet taken office, Ocasio-Cortez is already committing to replacing many of her colleagues — apparently on the basis of race and ideology.
A press release from the Justice Democrats declared (original emphasis):

After participating in sit-ins at Nancy Pelosi’s office on Tuesday, Justice Democrats officially launched the #OurTime project to repeat the organization’s success in recruiting and electing Congresswoman-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. The progressive grassroots organization will recruit the next generation of primary challengers to Democratic incumbents who are demographically and ideologically out-of-touch with their districts. The online conference call where the project was announced was joined by Ocasio-Cortez, who voiced her support for the project.
“We recruited and supported Ocasio-Cortez all the way to a historic victory and now we’re going to repeat the playbook,” said Justice Democrats Executive Director Alexandra Rojas. “There’s lots of blue districts in this country where communities want to support a new generation of diverse working-class leaders who fight tirelessly for their voters and build a movement around big solutions to our country’s biggest problems. We’re creating an alternative pathway to Congress for grassroots candidates to become leaders in the Democratic Party.”
The #OurTime project is a grassroots candidate recruitment effort asking Democrats and progressives around the country to submit nominees for both potential candidates and districts where an Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez-style campaign might succeed. The organization will prioritize candidates who are women, represent the diversity of communities in their district, and support the major tenets of Justice Democrats platform: rejecting corporate PAC donations, Medicare For All, free college, dismantling mass incarceration and deportations, and a Green New Deal.

Others backing the campaign include Palestinian American Representative-elect Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), whose views are so hostile to Israel that even the left-wing J Street organization withdrew its support for her campaign.

Rep-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez joined a conference call for the newly formed “Justice Democrats” on Saturday.

The radical far left group called on supporters to start planning their campaigns against incumbent Democrats.

The Hill reported:

Rep.-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), implored more than 700 attendees of a Justice Democrats strategy call to run for office against incumbent Democrats as well as Republicans in their home districts.
During the video call with supporters Saturday evening, Ocasio-Cortez remarked that her own journey to the House began on the other end of a Justice Democrats strategy call while calling on supporters to mount similar bids in their own districts around the country.
“Long story short, I need you to run for office,” she said on the call. “All I’m asking you to do is throw your hat in the ring, say ‘what the heck.’ ”
Ocasio-Cortez was elected Tuesday after running a successful primary against Rep. Joe Crowley, who was House Democratic Caucus Chairman.
The incoming freshman Democrat added that she and other members of the Justice Democrats, a group of progressive Democrats seeking to shift the Democratic Party left, would support challenges to incumbent Democrats they view as insufficiently aligned with the views of progressives in the party, particularly on the issue of corporate campaign donations.

As the incompetent election managers in Florida finally finish counting ballots barely in time for the 2020 campaigns to begin, and Georgia’s governor candidate Stacey Abrams chooses to "acknowledge defeat" rather than concede, it’s time to take a look at the role of women in politics.
Hillary
Hillary’s hinting she’s thinking of running for president yet again in 2020. Democrats who still retain a synapse or two are trying to dissuade her. Ken Danieli, an online pollster, ran the numbers and despite all the sister solidarity talk his calculations reveal that 4% more women voted for Obama in 2008 than for Hillary in 2016. By his count (derived from inputs from Wikipedia and exit polls), it also appears that it wasn’t white voters who accounted for Trump’s win. “Trump won only about 1% more white voters than did McCain in 2008…” “Trump won >80% more Black voters than McCain did and >15% more Latino voters than McCain did.”
Since the left cannot -- oh you know why -- attack Black or Latino voters, they’ve aimed their bile at white women voters. To paraphrase Friedrich Gustav Emil Martin Niemöller: First they came for the White Men, and I did not speak out. Then they came for the White Women.
Women Versus (White) Men
The attack on Brett Kavanaugh was a typical leftist attack on white men. Its insistence that a woman must always be believed when accusing men of sexual misconduct was part and parcel of the Duke Lacrosse team and University of Virginia frameups, among numerous others. It was enshrined in the Obama-era overreach of Title IX to deny college men the right of due process in such matters, and as time has passed, many colleges and universities are paying and will continue to pay male victims of this outrageous policy. No one has better publicized the harmful effect of such anti-male phrases as “toxic masculinity”, “frat boy”, “bro” and “testosterone poisoning” and unfair campus tribunals than Professor Glenn Reynolds who this week suggests that higher education institutions should use the summer break to clean up their act.
While it received little to no coverage, the Senate Judiciary Committee issued a 414-page report on the accusations against Kavanaugh, detailing the charges and summarizing the results of its investigation: There “was no credible evidence to support [those] allegations.” Among the allegations investigated and dismissed as not credible was one by Julie Swetnick, advanced by her lawyer Michael Avenatti.
Tammy Bruce weighed in on the report:

The legacy media carried the fraud that Justice Kavanaugh was a gang rapist. Day and night, that was all the U.S. and the world heard. Yet they, too, are silent. Wouldn’t having a rape mastermind on the Supreme Court require more outrage and more investigation?
But no, everyone has run for the hills, which tells us plenty. This silence and abandonment make clear that what we were all subjected to was a political stunt. The Democrats knew what they were doing, they did not care about the impact on women overall, and they still don’t.
And that is the largest fraud facing the American people: The left is not only not champions for women, the left uses us like cannon fodder, and need our lives to get worse.
While the Democrats have thrown the Kavanaugh debacle into the memory hole, the Senate Judiciary Committee has not. Generally ignored by the legacy media in the midst of the midterm, the committee’s 414-page report on the Justice Kavanaugh sexual assault allegation was released. It details exactly how much of a fraud the Kavanaugh hearing really was, and the seriousness of false charges lodged against him. [snip]
All this confirms my argument from the start of this debacle: The Democrats never cared about “the women,” and they see violence against women as a political tool, not something to solve. Their politicizing of our lives diminishes all women, and invited the fraud that is damaging the work that has been done for at least two generations to get women to be taken seriously on issues of sexual and domestic violence.

So Kavanaugh supporters who insisted that he was entitled to fair play and who disagreed with the claim that all women accusers must be believed, must be amused that this week Avenatti's estranged wife accused him of assault and he was arrested and charged with domestic violence. He’s claiming that he’s innocent of the charge and doubtless will be contesting his wife’s claim and demanding due process.
Jim Treacher could not resist pointing out the Avenatti double standard:

Throughout the Brett Kavanaugh confirmation debacle, anybody who presumed the man was innocent until proven guilty in the court of public opinion was branded a “rape apologist” by angry feminists and other Democrats. We were supposed to take the accusations at face value, even though there was absolutely no evidence to support them. The mere presence of the accusations was enough to decide the matter. Guilty until proven innocent, that was the new standard.
One man who did a lot to promote that point of view was cable-news fixture and purported attorney Michael Avenatti. He trotted out a woman named Julie Swetnick to accuse Kavanaugh of being part of some sort of gang-rape ring. Her accusation was completely unsupported by any evidence whatsoever, but it was good enough for the people who wanted to bring down Kavanaugh by any means necessary. And her attorney insisted we believe the tale, because it was told by a woman. If you’re skeptical of a woman’s accusation, that means you hate women. That’s what we were told.

But there was even more to cheer those who were upset by the Kavanaugh hearing debacle. Senator Joe Manchin, who broke from the Dem pack and voted for Kavanaugh, won his re-election campaign. Senators Donnelly, Nelson, Heitkamp, and McCaskill, who voted against him, lost. Certainly, other factors may have played a part, but obviously the Democrats forgot there are still plenty of women who love men and fair play.
Women versus Women
With the women should vote for a woman (Hillary) and white men are all rapists (Kavanaugh) tactics having failed, the left is now turning against white women as the enemy:

A New York Times op-ed labeled white women “gender traitors,” while Women’s March leader Linda Sarsour called Republican Maine Sen. Susan Collins, a swing vote who ultimately voted to confirm Kavanaugh, a “disgrace.”

In yet another bit of irony, Nancy Pelosi is finding that her role as House Speaker is in jeopardy. To the amusement of Iowahawk, Ocasio-Cortez, the dimbulb just elected from a district in New York, held a sit-in in Pelosi’s office demanding 100% renewable energy.

Ocasio-Cortez’s problem actually isn’t Pelosi, it’s math, science and logic, the patriarchal three that wrecks all bright ideas like hers.
In any event, Congresswoman Marcia Fudge, a former chair of the Congressional Black Caucus, seems a more likely opponent to Pelosi than Ocasio-Cortez.

Fudge, who is close friends with Pelosi critic and fellow Ohio delegation member Tim Ryan (D), is known inside the House for her straightforward demeanor and antiestablishment leanings. She said she is unbothered by the long odds and believes that even her consideration of a bid could rattle Pelosi’s standing.
“Things could change rapidly,” Fudge said on Thursday morning as her phone buzzed nearby. “Over the last 12 hours, I’ve been overwhelmed by the amount of support I’ve received,” guessing that there are “probably closer to 30” Democrats who have signaled that they are willing to oppose Pelosi.
That number of Pelosi defectors is debatable. At least 17 Democrats oppose Pelosi, although Fudge said that many members are keeping their potential opposition under wraps until it becomes evident that she or another contender could be a realistic challenger.
Fudge’s potential bid, which she first disclosed to the Cleveland Plain Dealer on Wednesday evening, could force Democrats to confront issues about race and gender in the party.
“It would say to [the country], ‘This is not business as usual,’ ” Fudge said Thursday when asked about the prospect of becoming the first black female speaker. “Nobody wants the status quo. People are weary of who we are as a party. People don’t know who we are anymore.”

Fudge says Pelosi is an “elitist”, a “very wealthy person” who surrounds herself with “other very wealthy people”. I guess she’s unaware of who funds her party.
And so, identity politics continues to gobble itself up like the mythical snake Ouroboros eating its own tail.
I will be joining my family at Thanksgiving and away next week so let me wish you all now a very happy holiday. Treat other family members who hold different policy views than you respectfully as individuals who are not haters or morons, just people with different ideas. But insist they treat you with the same respect you offer them. If that doesn’t work, just be sure to pass the food and tell the cook the turkey is really moist.

The newly-elected Ocasio Cortez will find out what happens when freshmen congressmen step out of line.

Newly-elected Congressman Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez is saying that she will back an effort by a new Democratic party organization, Justice Democrats, to make the party more liberal and "diverse."

That means that some Democratic congressmen who don't back the Justice Democrat agenda will be challenged in the primary.
Politico:

"Long story short, I need you to run for office," Ocasio-Cortez said Saturday on a video conference call hosted by Justice Democrats, as the group launched a campaign dubbed “#OurTime.” Justice Democrats supported Ocasio-Cortez's primary campaign against powerful Rep. Joe Crowley (D-N.Y.).
"All Americans know money in politics is a huge problem, but unfortunately the way that we fix it is by demanding that our incumbents give it up or by running fierce campaigns ourselves," Ocasio-Cortez added. "That's really what we need to do to save this country. That's just what it is."

It's an interesting concept; "saving" the country by destroying it.

The incoming congresswoman's chief of staff, Saikat Chakrabarti, a co-founder of Justice Democrats, was blunter.
"We need new leaders, period," he said on the call. "We gotta primary folks."
The group said they want Democratic members of Congress to be representative of their diverse communities and support liberal policies like Medicare for all, abolishing the Immigration and Customs Enforcement department, implementing a "Green New Deal," and rejecting corporate PAC donations. On the campaign trail, Ocasio-Cortez talked about forming a "corporate-free caucus" as a means to push for reform. That type of group, if it forms, could turn out to be the left's counterpart to the Freedom Caucus, which pushed Republican leadership to the right.

“I don't think people who are taking money from oil and gas companies should be drafting climate legislation,” Ocasio-Cortez said on the call.

Ocasio-Cortez will find out the hard way what happens to freshmen members who start trying to throw their weight around. More senior Democrats are very likely to slap her down right quick. Indeed, a frosh member threatening to primary incumbents might very well find herself - and her Justice Democrats - on the outside looking in.
Any legislation she and her fellow rebels want to have considered by the new Democratic majority will somehow get lost on the way to the floor. In fact, it might not even make it to committee. There's a way things work on the Hill and, while the occassional new member makes a splash, they almost always operate within the context of party rules. And rule #1 is don't step out of line by threatening long time members.
Is she naive or just stupid? Given many of her past statements on the issues, I would believe the latter rather than the former.

She’s going to be, in terms of power in the House of Representatives, a nonfactor, except the media is going to try to build her up. She revealed over the weekend she’s got no idea. This was during a conference call with prospective far left political candidates. And, by the way, she has acknowledged exactly what I predicted. She’s going after the dinosaurs. She is putting together a group of young Millennial bucks in the Democrat Party, uber-socialists, and they’re gonna try to shove the Pelosis and the Steny Hoyers and all the rest of them out of the way. They’re not far left enough, they’re not radical enough, and they’ve gotta be gone.

And she literally thinks that she is going to have the power to build this movement in the House that’s gonna drive these dinosaurs out. She said, “If we work our butts off to make sure that we take back all three chambers of Congress — uh, rather all three chambers of government, the presidency, the Senate, and the House.” She said these words on Saturday on a call with Justice Democrats. This word “justice.” You know, whenever you hear that, folks, run for the hills.
The pope is now talking about justice. Justice is a left-wing concept which equals at its root, wealth redistribution, but it’s far worse. But it’s not justice in the way you think, fairness and equality before the law. The pope is talking about there needs to be more justice in the world, especially for migrants. The pope! I know some Catholics, they stopped going to church. They can’t handle what they’re hearing anymore, to the extent the pope is influencing places. It’s amazing, the left, they just destroy everything they touch! They ruin every institution they get hold of.
Anyway, of course, the three branches of government, not the chambers, are the executive, the legislative, and the judicial. But to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, three chambers of government are the presidency, the Senate, and the House. Her objective is to win control of all three, and they don’t have that now so they’ve gotta work really, really hard. She urged people to join the Justice Democrats. I guess it’s the name of a group. Justice Democrats, #OurTime campaign. It’s a hashtag. To help them identify Democrat House incumbents who are demographically and ideologically out of touch with their districts like Joe Crowley was in his.
You know, some old doofus, machine Democrat out of touch with the youth of America. So Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez comes in and on a very low turn-out day and wipes him out. Now she’s urging this group to band together to do the same thing to other such Jurassic Park members of the Democrat Party. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has endorsed a campaign that says people cannot represent those who are demographically different than they are.
Yeah, these are the people that talk about diversity! They’re demanding diversity! They want to throw diversity at everybody and they define diversity by virtue of the color of somebody’s skin or whether or not they had weird sexual proclivities or whatever. That’s diversity. We have to accept it. Yet here she is saying that they need to help identify Democrat House incumbents demographically and ideologically out of touch with their district. Meaning, an old white guy simply cannot represent a district with young Millennials who may tend to be Hispanic. It just can’t happen.

This isn’t anything new. Back during the Year of the Woman, which was at some point back in the nineties, and this is one of the precursors to the #MeToo movement. Some Democrat was sexually harassing women, and so women band together in the Year of the Woman, they got elected to the Senate, a bunch of them. And the idea was that only women can represent women.
Men can’t represent anybody because men are the power structure and they’re biased and they’re against anybody. So only women can represent women. Only African-Americans can represent blacks. Only Latinos can represent Latinos and so forth. That’s what Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez happens to be saying here.
I thought we were beautiful because of our gorgeous mosaic of diverse skin colors and sexual proclivities and orientations. Well, anyway, she was called out on this. “Ocasio-Cortez Plays Victim After Taking Heat for Flubbing the Three Branches of Government.” It’s a website here called by BizPac Review. “For someone who has thrust herself on the national stage, Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez sure has thin skin. [She] has a knack for making confusing statements, or ‘word slips,’ as she calls them, and is real [sic] quick to play the victim if anyone calls attention to them. …
“The ‘word slip’ was made while … on a Justice Democrats strategy call, where she encouraged attendees to primary incumbent Democrats who are” old and get rid of ’em. She said (impression), “Maybe instead of Republicans drooling over every minute of footage of me in slow-mo, waiting to chop up word slips that I correct in real-tomd [sic], they actually step up enough to make the argument they want to make: that they don’t believe people deserve a right to health care.”

That’s her answer to getting the three branches of government wrong. I read it to you verbatim. She’s now playing the victim. Because she wants health care for everybody, these mean Republicans are focusing on her “word slips.” Everybody knew what she meant, she says. Well, except, no, she didn’t know what she meant. She said, “If we work our butts off to make sure that we take back all three chambers of Congress — uh, rather, all three chambers of government: the presidency, the Senate, and the House…”
This is like a cardiologist talking about the heart’s four “branches.”
The heart has four chambers: The right atrium and ventricle and the left atrium and ventricle.
It’s Anatomy 101 just like knowing the three branches of government — legislative, executive, and judicial — is Civics 101. She doesn’t know it. This woman has an economics degree from the University of Boston or Boston University, whichever; she doesn’t know a thing about economics. This is American public education at work: Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. She thinks the Senate and the House are separate chambers? You know, she’s a former bartender. You gotta wonder she knows the difference between scotch, bourbon, and whisky. You know, the three chambers of liquor.

As reported by The Hill, Ocasio-Cortez joined a conference video call on Saturday for the newly-formed group “Justice Democrats,” a Marxist-Left organization of people who have but one objective: To replace establishment Democrats with younger, more ethnically diverse candidates who would, if elected, lead America down the path of Venezuela.
During the call, Ocasio-Cortez told attendees her path to Congress began after she, too, attended a Justice Democrats conference call before imploring supporters to mount similar campaigns in their own districts — even if it means against incumbent Democrats.
“Long story short, I need you to run for office. All I’m asking you to do is throw your hat in the ring, say ‘what the heck,’” she said, The Hill reported.
Ocasio-Cortez, who was tending bar and waitressing just a few short years ago, mounted an insurgent campaign against 10-term Democratic Rep. Joe Crowley, the House Democratic Caucus Chairman who, it was thought, would eventually succeed Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi. Ocasio-Cortez defeated Crowley in the primary in New York earlier this year. Since then, she’s become a darling to the Left-wing establishment media which so often promotes establishment Democrats (irony?) and a thorn in the side of her party’s leadership without yet having even been sworn in.
The Hill reported further:

Transformation of the Democrat Party

That’s not going to set well with Pelosi and other Democratic leaders, namely because they are as dependent on big-money donors are Republicans are.
Like most other Marxist-Leftists, she’s a hypocrite as well. She made headlines last week when a Washington Examiner reporter questioned her claims that she is struggling financially but her “jacket and coat don’t look like a girl who struggles.”
And let’s not forget that time she wore a $3,500 outfit to a photo shoot with construction workers (because she is a ‘woman of the people!’).
This one — and a handful of other freshmen lawmakers, mostly women from diverse ethnic and religious backgrounds — is going to be a problem for Pelosi’s Democratic Party.
Unlike the Tea Party conservatives who sprang up in opposition to the free-spending ways of establishment Republicans and Democrats ahead of the 2012 election, Democratic Socialists like Ocasio-Cortez are true believers in la revolucion. They didn’t run for Congress to go along to get along. They sincerely believe that the Democrat Party should have the descriptor “socialist” in its title. They’re not seeking counsel and advice from Democratic leaders, and they’re not in Washington to become ‘just another establishment politician.’
What will this mean moving forward? One of two things — or maybe both. One, the Democrat Party will fracture into Left and far-Left camps, in which case it will become less of a political force. Two, the bulk of the party will join the “freebies for all” Democratic Socialist bandwagon and become less of a force in American politics.
Either way, seeing the party destroy itself will be a good thing.
