'The Rock' laments 'snowflake' culture in interview

Actor Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson lamented the "snowflake" culture in an interview with the U.K.'s Daily Star published on Friday.

Johnson, who has toyed with the idea of politics, told the publication that snowflakes' complaints do a disservice to the war heroes who fought for freedom of speech.

“So many good people fought for freedom and equality - but this generation are looking for a reason to be offended," he said. “If you are not agreeing with them then they are offended - and that is not what so many great men and women fought for.”

He said he may not agree with what someone thinks, who they voted for, but he will support their "right say or believe it," according to the publication.

"That's democracy," he said.

“We thankfully now live in a world that has progressed over the last 30 or 40 years,” the 46-year-old superstar continued. "People can be who they want, be with who they want, and live how they want.

“That can only be a good thing – but generation snowflake or, whatever you want to call them, are actually putting us backwards.”

It's so sad, because all these poor stupid DemoQuacks are missing out on one of the most exciting and wonderful political and economic periods in our history, rebuilding our economy, bringing our industries home, ending treasonous trade deals, getting a hold on illegal immigration, creating jobs, raising wages, reducing poverty, training workers for new and better jobs, fixing our regulations, restarting almost defunct industries like coal, steel, aluminum and many others, peace deals all over the place, felons getting the right to vote in many states, ending the War on Weed, federal criminal justice reform, growing GDP and stock market, lower gas and energy prices, troops coming home, rebuilding our military, fixing Veterans care, fixing our inner cities, saving our seas, helping musicians, lower taxes, plus so much more .... and improving the lives of our citizens with every single move.

It's just terrible they're so blinded by their own bias, they can't see it, and when you can't see it, you don't know it's happening. Very sad. Millions of Americans missing out entirely on the events of one of the most dramatic turn-arounds of a nation in the history of the world. Their kids and grand-kids will study it in school and ask their parents and grandparents what was it like Mom or Grandpa? And they'll look at them with empty eyes and have to say, "I don't know." "What do you mean you don't know?" "I don't know, I didn't see it, I didn't know it was happening, I was told it was all lies and fraud and betrayal and broken promises, and I believed them, so I missed it, because I thought it was all lies." "How is that possible?" "I don't know."

And they'll never look at you the same way again.

Wrestler turned international movie star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson body-slammed a British tabloid on Friday for posting what he called a “fabricated” interview featuring him bashing “snowflakes.”

Johnson took to Instagram Friday evening to “set the record straight” over a story published earlier in the day by The Daily Star. In the interview, he was quoted as lamenting the rise of snowflake culture and criticizing millennials’ need to search for reasons to be offended.

“Earlier today, online, an interview dropped with me, apparently it was with me, where I was insulting and criticizing millennials,” Johnson said in a video posted to his social media page. “The interview never took place. Never happened. Never said any of those words. Completely untrue. 100 percent fabricated.”

Media outlets, including Fox News, had picked up the story, in which the actor was said to have derided millennials for doing a disservice to war heroes by constantly complaining.

The Daily Star did not immediately respond to Fox News’ request for comment about the Rock's denunciation of the initial report. An hour after the social media blast, the paper's website was still carrying the original story.

“I’ve gained such a great trust and equity with you all guys all around the world over the years and you know it’s not a real ‘DJ’ interview if I’m ever insulting a group, a generation or anyone because that’s not me and that’s not who I am and that’s not what we do,” Johnson told his 128 million followers.

He went on to say that he always encourages “empathy” and “growth” and acceptance – adding “I don’t even know where that term came from,” referring to “snowflake.”
