Dems Call For Investigation of MCCain on Campaign Funds

    Saturday, March 4, 2006 9:00 p.m. EST
Dems Want Probe for McCain, Arnold

The allegations center on a scheduled March 20th fund-raiser in Beverly Hills in which donors have been asked to contribute up to 100 thousand dollars for the governor and the state Republican Party. McCain is the featured speaker at the event.

At issue is whether McCain's appearance violates restrictions on federal officeholders taking part in events that solicit political funds.

Ironically, McCain is being accused of violating a law he helped write.

Katie Levinson, a spokeswoman for the governor's campaign, called the complaint "nothing more than frivolous nonsense."

That would be great if he's found guilty and has to serve jail time over it.

Yes! McCain should be charged under his own law, even if it's a huge stretch.

I wondered why no reporter has ever asked McCain a question like this (it begs to be asked):

"Everyone agrees that there is more "money in politics" now, than there was before your C.F. bill.
So explain to us how your bill could be characterized as anything but a failure?

AND, how many people have actually been charged, or found guilty of violating the new campaign finance law?"

i don't know the numbers, but i bet McCain would drop a load in his pants if asked this at a televised press conference.

I 2nd that! What a joke, thinking he can run for office of the presidency. Who in their right minds would vote for this looney.
