CHESTERFIELD (KMOV.com) - Pictures of Homeland Security officers are causing a stir and raising questions whether the Feds will be on the ground in Ferguson after the Grand Jury decision is announced.
A St. Louis man posted pictures on Facebook showing Federal Protective Services vehicles at a hotel in Chesterfield. The Facebook post said a large fleet of Homeland Security vehicles was parked in the garage of a Drury Hotel at Highway 40 and Clarkson. Federal Protective Services is not a secretive police force within the Homeland Security Department.
The man says he was fired for revealing the secret.
The increase in federal officers before the Michael Brown grand jury decision has local residents talking.
"Well, overall I think it's a good idea, simply because we really don't know how volatile this is going to be when the verdict comes out," says resident Dwight Clark.
The photos posted online of Federal Protective Service vehicles ask if they're here to be a part of the police force in Ferguson, but both local and federal authorities say federal law enforcement is not part of the united command.
According to TacticalGear.com, Federal Protective Services has been spending money with them, providing proof of recent transactions for police gear by officers in town from Washington DC.
