George Conway, husband of top Trump aide Kellyanne Conway, ripped his spouse's boss on Twitter on Friday, saying the country needs a president capable of comprehending the law.

George Conway took issue with Trump's Friday morning tweet berating Attorney General Jeff Sessions. The president had called on Sessions to open investigations into Hillary Clinton's email server, former FBI Director James Comey and "Mueller conflicts." Sessions previously recused himself from special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into meddling in the 2016 election, a decision Trump has blasted, most recently in a Fox News interview that aired Thursday.

"What everyone should want, and the country needs, is a 'President' capable of comprehending what it means to 'take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed.' Art. II, § 3." George Conway wrote on Twitter.

George Conway is a lawyer and a staunch Trump critic, despite his wife's loyalty to the president and her willingness to speak on his behalf, even amid controversy. He will occasionally blast the president to his 113,000 Twitter followers. And according to a Washington Post feature published earlier this month, George Conway was the one who introduced his wife to Trump in the first place.
