National Review Online: GOP Long-Shot Highly Admired By His Fans, But Has Inconsistent Principles

Okay, enough is enough. Like every other journalist in America, and who knows, maybe the world or even the universe, I’ve been deluged with your letters and e-mails. So I’ve done as you asked and taken a closer look at your candidate. Here is what I’ve found:

    1. Ron Paul is inconsistent. Though he calls himself a man of principle and is apparently admired as such by his ardent fans, his principles seem somewhat elastic. He rails against the Bush administration for its supposed assault on civil liberties, yet when he was asked at one of the debates whether Scooter Libby deserved a pardon, he said no. “He doesn’t deserve one because he was instrumental in leading the Congress and the people to support a war that we didn’t need to be in.â€

For some reason I never liked Ron Paul.
Something fishy about him. His position on
    foreign policies is a disgrace.

Hope he drops out of the race sooner than later.

Ouch...sounds like Ron Paul is getting too close for comfort so make him look like a nutbar. That might make a thinking person like him all the more.

He is not an isolationist. I think this writer is a nut job. She really doesn't know that their ARE plans for a NAU. Shows what she knows.

This so called reporter is the "Nut Job" Not Ron Paul.

Did you notice she could not really connect him to her smear campaign but threw his name in there anyway.

Trash & irresponsible journalism at its best.

The National Review is a pro-globalist publication. That said, of course they don't want Ron Paul to win.

    Ron Paul

    Never voted to raise taxes.
Never voted for an unbalanced budget.
Never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.
Never voted to raise congressional pay.
Never voted to increase the power of the executive branch.
    Never taken a government-paid junket.
He voted against the Patriot Act.
He voted against regulating the internet.
He voted against the Iraq war.

You would expect this from a columist whose husband works for one of the country's largest law firms. The firm's lawyers are counsel to many of the world's leading corporations such as Time Warner and financial institutions, particularly staple private equity funds like Oak Hill, General Atlantic Partners, KPS and the Carlyle Group, to name but a few. You would not expect her to support a candidate who wants to do away with the Federal Reserve.

The fact that she is attacking is a great sign. He is becoming a real threat.
