    Dubai, 24 January 2006: - Global ports operator DP World today welcomed news that one of its senior executives, Dave Sanborn, has been nominated by US President George W. Bush to serve as Maritime Administrator a key transportation appointment reporting directly to Norman Mineta the Secretary of Transportation and Cabinet Member.

    The White House has issued a statement from Washington DC announcing the nomination. The confirmation process will begin in February.

    Mr Sanborn currently holds the position of Director of Operations for Europe and Latin America for the Dubai-based company

    Mohammed Sharaf, CEO, DP World said:
    “While we are sorry to lose such an experienced and capable executive, it is exactly those qualities that will make Dave an effective administrator for MarAd. We are proud of Dave’s selection and pleased that the Bush Administration found such a capable executive. We wish him all the best in his new role.â€
    It's like hell vomited and the Bush administration appeared.

    Not only that, look at the other Bush appointees. I don't have any faith in this one given all the past failures in high places. Look at Rice, Gonzales, Chertoff, Bolton, and on and on. Bush chooses people for some reason that has nothing whatsoever to do with qualifications!

    Well, HOWDY DOODIE!

    There is no limit to what this President will do. This is a bona fide conflict of interest concerning the approval of the acquisition of this ports contract with Dubai Ports.

    And my guess is if you look closely there will be organizations belonging to the Bush Family, "investment portfolios" that will track profits of this deal directly to them.

    GRRRRR!!!

    Wake Up America!

    It's time to get this pond scum out of Washington...N O W!!

    Think about all that we don't know yet...and will never know until it's biting US on the butt.

    They interviewed the CEO of DP World on C=Span yesterday afternoon. He acts like a fool. He is supposedly an American. I figure any American who lives in Dubai and runs a foreign owned company does so because he isn't worth his salt and can't get a real job in the US. To the best of my knowledge, an American CANNOT own more than 49% of any company there and that means that he can't have the controlling interest. The last thing we need is Dubai running our ports.

    It's easy money. American Companies should demand an opportunity to bid now that they know it matters so much to US. Many American Companies are more than qualified to handle this. DuPont, Wal-Mart, Conoco/Phillips...many have the expertise, port, logistics, management, security experience...it would be profitable, no risk, easy money compared to what they manage and risk on a daily basis.

    They could form a joint venture...DuWaCon....that way it sounds foreign so they could expedite their approval and if they hire an Arab Student and have him make the call to the White House to submit the bid, they'd get The WackiArabaDent's attention and preferential treatment to boot.

    Besides, most of the cargo coming in and going out is theirs. These three companies are three of the largest port users in the country.

    Other interesting news on this subject include:

    1. The US just hired a former Dubai Ports guy to head the US Maritime Division in the US Department of Transportation. ?????

    2. Neil Bush borrowed money to start one of his businesses from the UAE.

    3. Pappy Bush was involved with the Carlyle Group who borrowed $8 BILLION from the UAE.

    4. Dubai Ports is owned 100% by the UAE Government

    5. 2 of the terrorists who hijacked planes on 9/11 were from the UAE

    6. Most of the funds involved in 9/11 were tracked to UAE Banks.

    7. UAE transported secret nuclear technology to Iran and North Korea.

    So, we can see why the approval "sped" through the Bush Administration but we can also see why it should have never even been considered to begin with because....it's not in the American Interest to have a Terrorist Communist Monarchy control our port operations, is it?

    Naaah, it's not. In fact, it's a no brainer. In fact, now we've learned in the past 24 hours that over half of our ports are operated by foreign companies and foreign governments, including CHINA.

    This needs to be corrected as quickly as possible, doesn't it?
