DUI victim in driver's car, cops say



A Chicago driver who allegedly struck and killed a pedestrian and then put the woman's body in the back of his car was ordered held on $250,000 bail Friday. Pedro Perez, 36, of the 6000 block of West Gunnison, is charged with aggravated drunken driving in the July 12 death of Michelle Chaney, 37. Chaney was struck in the 4700 block of West Wabansia. Police arrested Perez after he got into a second accident in the 2500 block of North Central, slightly injuring a woman driver. When police arrested Perez and saw Chaney's body in the back of his car, Perez allegedly told police the woman was his girlfriend and he was taking her home. Chaney was later pronounced dead at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center
