    On-duty Border Patrol agent involved in fatal accident


    Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at 10:29 a.m.


    Authorities have confirmed that an on-duty Border Patrol agent was involved in a fatal accident that killed a pedestrian near the Pharr-Reynosa International Bridge.

    Border Patrol officials officials confirmed the Monday night incident.

    They said the agent was on-duty and in a marked unit when he struck and killed a man who had a United States birth certificate.

    Neither the name of the victim nor the Border Patrol agent were released as of Tuesday morning.

    Pharr police are investigating the case.
