What Happened to the $2.6 Trillion Social Security Trust Fund?

Here’s how President Barack Obama answered CBS’s Scott Pelley’s question about whether he could guarantee that Social Security checks would go out on August 3, the day after the government is supposed to reach its debt limit: “I cannot guarantee that those checks [he included veterans and the disabled, in addition to Social Security] go out on August 3rd if we haven’t resolved this issue. Because there may simply not be the money in the coffers to do it.â€

Basically any money taken into DC drops in a black hole never seen or heard from again. We could cut social security payments by 50% and that money would simply disappear into Mexico, China, some war,etc.

No accountability at all, in past two years seniors have not received a cola, where did that savings go, notice no word of it in media.

I've written various Representatives and ask if they could halt corruption that most seniors would be willing to give up 20-25% but no answer as of yet, I'm not holding my breath.

More money sent to DC means money wasted, the housing market and jobs is best in DC wonder why.

Our government is more corrupt than it has been since before the Civil War.

A good American being elected into congress or senate completely gives away their integrity and principles on day one.

It's no secret.
Everyone has know for years that every administration has taken the Social Security funds and spent them on everything else they want and given S.S. worthless promises to repay the money when it is needed.

The gov can mess with retired Americans 50 dozen ways to Sunday and get away with it.

Obama is now messing with retired military.

He'll find that somewhat of a different animal.

Yes we all have paid and still paying out of our pay checks ss but Fed.Gov.has been barrowing money out of trust fund since Reagon started using it for other projects throwing iou into trust fund every since then its been fair game for all to use,its like everything else you dip in sooner or later it catches up with you guess what it caught up.That ss money is being put in but taken right out for other things and with as many people drawing it some that shouldnt be like illegals and people claiming disabilities that are not more taken out than whats going in.This is something that has to stop.But can you imagine what would have happend under Bush if it got privatized into wall street there would be nothing at all with them gambling with our money.
