Austria declares war on Islam - deports 60 imams, destroys 7 mosques
Austria declares war on Islam - deports 60 imams, destroys 7 mosques
Austria closes 7 mosques and expels up to 60 Turkish-funded imams and their families as part of a crackdown on "political Islam", Interior Minister Herbert Kickl said on Friday, sparking outrage in the Muslim world.
150 Muslims (religious leaders, clerics and imams) risked losing their right to residence.
The actions by the government are based on a 2015 law that, among other things, prevents religious communities from getting funding from abroad.
Every country has the right to defend itself and preserve its culture.
Liberals and leftists in the West use the made up term "Islamophobia" to portray anyone who criticizes Islam as a "racist".
Radical Muslim terrorists all over the world carry out terror attacks "in the name of Allah".
They justify their violence by quoting verses from the Quran.
Islamophobia is a made up word created by the Muslim Brotherhood specifically to silence debate.
Liberals and leftists ignore the fact that Islam is an ideology that has nothing to do with race.
Islamophobia is a neologism created to silence any possible debate about the problems Islamic extremism has got with modernity, with the intention of using the collective post-colonial "guilt" to exempt a particular set of beliefs from scrutiny, analysis and criticism.
It's a buzzword used in an attempt to silence anyone, whenever had legit questions or criticisms about the religion.
Islam is not a race. It's a religion.
There is an attempt in the West to impose a sharia-blasphemy law to criminalize criticism of Islam.
It started when Saudi Arabia and Muslim countries tried to pass a UN resolution to force Western states to criminalize criticism of Islam.
The Parliament in Canada passed "Motion M-103" to condemn the so-called "Islamophobia (Fear of Islam)" in a preparation for a blasphemy law in Canada.
According to the sharia blasphemy law anyone who criticizes Islam or the Prophet Muhammad should be killed.
Under Sharia blasphemy law in Saudi Arabia and Iran Muslims are executed if they are accused of blasphemy.
In Pakistan, the situation is even worse, radical Muslims use the blasphemy law to persecute the Christian minority.
Is this the law the liberals in the West want to adopt?
If you think Sharia blasphemy law has no place in the West, share this post!

Austria says it will move to expel up to 60 Turkish-funded imams and their families in a government crackdown on "political islam"
JOE KLAMAR (AFP)
In total 150 people risked losing their right to residence Austrian Interior Minister Herbert Kickl said
Austria said Friday it could expel up to 60 Turkish-funded imams and their families and shut down seven mosques as part of a crackdown on "political Islam", triggering fury in Ankara.
"The circle of people possibly affected by these measures - the pool that we're talking about - comprises around 60 imams," said Herbert Kickl of the far-right Freedom Party (FPOe), the junior partner in Austria's coalition government.
In total 150 people risked losing their right to residence, he said at a press conference in Vienna.
Ankara quickly denounced the move.
"Austria's decision to close down seven mosques and deport imams with a lame excuse is a reflection of the anti-Islam, racist and discriminatory populist wave in this country", presidential spokesman Ibrahim Kalin said on Twitter.
Seven mosques will also be shut after an investigation by the religious affairs authority into images which emerged in April of children in a Turkish-backed mosque playing dead and reenacting the World War I battle of Gallipoli.
"Parallel societies, political Islam and radicalization have no place in our country," Chancellor Sebastian Kurz of the ruling center-right People's Party said.
In several cases the process of expelling imams connected to the Turkish-Islamic Cultural Associations (ATIB) organisation was underway, Kickl said.
The interior minister added that the government suspects them of contravening a ban on foreign funding of religious office holders. ATIB is a branch of Turkey's religious affairs agency Diyanet.
Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz said the headscarf ban in schools was aimed at preventing "parallel societies"

The photos of children, published by the Falter weekly, showed the young boys in camouflage uniforms marching, saluting, waving Turkish flags and then playing dead.
Their "corpses" were then lined up and draped in the flags.
The mosque in question was run by ATIB.
ATIB itself condemned the photos at the time, calling the "highly regrettable" event and said that "called off before it had even ended".
-Turkey reacts-
Turkey's presidential spokesman on Friday lambasted Austria's decision to expel up to 60 Turkish-funded imams and shut seven mosques as an "anti-Islam" and "racist" move.
"Austria's decision to close down seven mosques and deport imams with a lame excuse is a reflection of the anti-Islam, racist and discriminatory populist wave in this country," Ibrahim Kalin said after Vienna announced the move in a crackdown on "political Islam".
"It is an attempt to target Muslim communities for the sake of scoring cheap political points," Kalin said on Twitter.
Kalin, spokesman for President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, suggested the decision was part of efforts to "normalize Islamophobia and racism", which he said must be rejected.
"The Austrian government's ideologically charged practices are in violation of universal legal principles, social integration policies, minority rights and the ethics of co-existence," Kalin said.
During the Turkish referendum campaign last year on expanding the president's powers, tensions were high between Vienna and Ankara after Austria said it would not allow campaign-related events.
Relations were also strained by Kurz's staunch opposition to Turkey's bid to join the European Union and the government's program which pledged Vienna would not agree to Ankara joining the bloc

Austria Set To Deport 60 Imams, Close 7 Mosques In Crackdown On "Political Islam"
by Tyler Durden

Austria announced on Friday that it will likely expel up to 60 Turkish-funded Imams and their families, and may shutter seven mosques as part of a crackdown on what they have termed "political Islam," reports AFP.
Chancellor Sebastian Kurz said that Austrian officials will shut a Turkish nationalist mosque in Vienna, while dissolving a group called the Arab Religious Community that runs six mosques.
"The circle of people possibly affected by these measures -- the pool that we're talking about -- comprises around 60 imams," said Interior Minister Herbert Kickl of the far-right Freedom Party (FPOe), the junior partner in Austria's coalition government.
Kickl was referring to imams with alleged links to the Turkish-Islamic Cultural Associations (ATIB) organisation, a branch of Turkey's religious affairs agency Diyanet.
Kickl added the government suspects them of contravening a ban on foreign funding of religious office holders. -AFP
40 of the Imams have active applications pending to extend their residency, however a number of them had already been referred to immigration authorities for expulsion. When family members are included, a total of 150 people stand to lose their residency, Kickl told a Vienna press conference.
The government actions are based on a 2015 Austrian law that prevents religious communities from receiving foreign funding.
Turkey immediately denounced the move, while populist politicians in Europe praised it.
"Austria’s decision to close seven mosques and expel imams is a reflection of the Islamophobic, racist and discriminatory wave in this country. It is an attempt to target Muslim communities for the sake of scoring cheap political points," presidential spokesman Ibrahim Kalin said on Twitter.

Former French Presidential candidate Marine Pe Pen lauded the move, tweeting "Austria is taking things in hand and showing that 'when you want to, you can!'"
Italy's new interior minister Matteo Salvini also voiced his support of Austria's actions, tweeting: "Those who exploit their faith to endanger a country's security should be expelled!"

Austria espelle "svariati" imam e chiude 7 moschee
Vienna, 8 giu. (askanews) – L’Austria espellerà “svariati” imam finanziati dall’estero e chiuderà sette moschee considerate a rischio radicalizzazione: lo ha deciso il cancelliere Sebastian Kurz.

And while Austrian officials prepare to crack down on Imams in a culture war, former chancellor Wolfgang Schuessel is warning Europeans to push back against US policies which are disrupting the "international system of norms."
Schuessel, who also served as president of the European Council, told RT’s Oksana Boyko that the Trump administration posed a serious threat to the “international systems of norms” and should not be allowed to disregard international law with impunity.
Criticizing Washington’s decisions to withdraw from the Iran nuclear deal and initiate a trade war with its Western allies, Schuessel said that Europe “should stand up and defend our interests.” He suggested that Europe could seek remittal through international bodies such as the United Nations and the World Trade Organization. -RT
In other words, Austria is kind of old fashioned.

Austria to shut down mosques, expel foreign-funded imams
Reuters Staff
3 MIN READ
VIENNA (Reuters) - Austria’s right-wing government plans to shut seven mosques and could expel dozens of imams in what it said was “just the beginning” of a push against radical Islam and foreign funding of religious groups that Turkey condemned as racist.
The coalition government, an alliance of conservatives and the far right, came to power soon after Europe’s migration crisis on promises to prevent another influx and restrict benefits for new immigrants and refugees.
The moves follow a “law on Islam”, passed in 2015, which banned foreign funding of religious groups and created a duty for Muslim organizations to have “a positive fundamental view towards (Austria’s) state and society”.
“Political Islam’s parallel societies and radicalizing tendencies have no place in our country,” said Chancellor Sebastian Kurz, who, in a previous job as minister in charge of integration, steered the Islam bill into law.
Standing next to him and two other cabinet members on Friday, far-right Vice Chancellor Heinz-Christian Strache told a news conference: “This is just the beginning.”
Austria, a country of 8.8 million people, has roughly 600,000 Muslim inhabitants, most of whom are Turkish or have families of Turkish origin.
Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan’s spokesman said the new policy was part of an “Islamophobic, racist and discriminatory wave” in Austria.
“The Austrian government’s ideologically charged practices are in violation of universal legal principles, social integration policies, minority rights and the ethics of co-existence,” Ibrahim Kalin tweeted.
The ministers at the news conference said up to 60 imams belonging to the Turkish-Islamic Union for Cultural and Social Cooperation in Austria (ATIB), a Muslim group close to the Turkish government, could be expelled from the country or have visas denied on the grounds of receiving foreign funding.
A government handout put the number at 40, of whom 11 were under review and two had already received a negative ruling.
ATIB spokesman Yasar Ersoy acknowledged that its imams were paid by Diyanet, the Turkish state religious authority, but it was trying to change that.

“We are currently working on having imams be paid from funds within the country,” he told ORF radio.
One organization that runs a mosque in Vienna and is influenced by the “Grey Wolves”, a Turkish nationalist youth group, will be shut down for operating illegally, as will an Arab Muslim group that runs at least six mosques, the government said in a statement.
