FANTASY LAND: Joe Biden Wants ‘James Bond-Style’ Smart Guns To Stop Gun Violence

The Biden administration will apparently be the most technologically-advanced yet.

Fresh off promising to cure cancer if elected, 2020 presidential candidate and former vice president Joe Biden has a futuristic plan to curb gun violence.“If I get elected president of the United States of America with your help, if that happens, guns, we have the capacity now in a James Bond-style to make sure no one can pull a trigger unless their DNA and fingerprint is on it. We have that capacity to do it now,” Biden said in New York City according to Breitbart.

Biden is referring to the smart gun, an idea conceived in the 1990’s that has never successfully been developed for mass production. The idea behind the “smart gun” is that only the person with the same DNA as the owner of the firearm, which could be detected by the finger on the trigger of the firearm, would be able to successfully discharge a round from the firearm.

In fact, a recent smart gun bill proposed in New Jersey – one that recommended citizens be allowed to purchase only guns “with technology allowing use exclusively by an authorized or recognized user” was given an F grade by Ammoland. The proposal calls for a Personalized Handgun Authorization Commission to meddle into the affairs of private citizens before allowing them to purchase a weapon.

Biden continued:

But what happens? The gun manufacturers, when two folks started to sell some of those guns to two dealerships, they said we’re going to shut you down. My god, we don’t have to worry about the 2nd Amendment. Imagine all the people who would be alive today if the only person who could buy a gun is qualified because of background checks and they’re the only ones that can pull the trigger?

So my point is there are so many things we have the capacity to do.
