EL PASO -- A Mexican motocross champion was among three men slain Monday when an armed group stormed a home in an upscale Juárez neighborhood, police said.

Rene Tercero Reyes Aguirre, 24, was a five-time national supercross champion. He listed El Paso as his home in several U.S. racing results found online. Also slain were Andres Fernando Mora Sanchez, 32, and Jose Refugio Ontiveros Arsaga, 24. The men were shot to death by a group that ripped the security bars and hinges off a front door of a home in the Campestre Senecu.

A total of 11 died in the Juárez area Monday. At least three died Tuesday.
