FDA Investigating Reports Of Myocarditis Risk From Moderna Vaccine

Looks like “conspiracy theorists” were right again.
The FDA is going to investigate reports of myocarditis in young adults who took the COVID vaccine.

On Sunday, the US Food and Drug administration said that it is reviewing reports that the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine can cause heart issues in some adolescents.
In a statement given on Sunday, Moderna said the FDA “requires additional time to evaluate recent international analyses of the risk of myocarditis after vaccination.”
According to the New York Times, Moderna had requested authorization from the FDA back in June for the use of its vaccine in children ages 12 to 17 years, but has yet to receive a ruling on the application.

Five Nordic countries halted the use of the Moderna vaccine in young adults due to the increased risk of myocarditis.

Finland has joined Sweden, Denmark and Norway in either banning or discouraging young adults or teens from getting the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine, because of the increased risk of myocarditis — heart inflammation.
Dr. Hanna Nohynek, chief physician at the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare, had told the media a decision was coming down Thursday.
Finland’s health authorities announced that men under 30 will not get the Moderna shot, and should get the Pfizer vaccine instead. Sweden banned Moderna for people under the age of 30, and Denmark did the same for people under 18. Instead of issuing a ban, Norway is urging people under 30 to choose Pfizer rather than Moderna.
