Yet Another Shooting At “Jack in the Box’s” Gun-Free Zone!

By Eric Reed on May 20, 2014 in Civil Rights, Crime, Gun control

Eric Reed is the President and Founder of Gun Rights Across America (GRAA). They have chapters in all 50 states, and a membership of over 200,000 freedom loving Americans. GRAA wholeheartedly believes that the Second Amendment is worth fighting for.

On Sunday, the Jack in the Box in Houston had a armed robbery and shooting. The restaurant is located at Holzwarth and Cypresswood in northern Harris County.
The victim is a male in his early 20′s. He was robbed outside at the entryway to the restaurant, and shot in the arm during the crime. The Harris County Sheriffs Office is still unclear if the perpetrator was originally intending to rob the restaurant and possibly found an easier target before entering, or if the victim was the actual intended target.
Either way, this incident comes just over a week after the last Jack in the Box shooting in Nashville, TN, which occurred only a mere days after Jack in the Box’s brand new “No Guns” policy.

So now in less than two weeks, two Jack in the Box’s have had shootings, with both occurring after Jack said “no guns.” Sounds like there’s an obvious communication problem here. These two shooters, one who was also a drug dealer, clearly didn’t get Jack’s memo! If these criminals knew that Jack said no guns, they most certainly would’ve honored that request, right? If your answer to that question is yes, I have a ticket to Mars to sell you on my pet unicorn.
So what’s it going to take for Jack to realize that they’re creating victims? How many more bullets must fly, and how many more bodies must fall? Many have been very vocal in expressing their displeasure in Jack’s new policy. Gun Rights Across America Mississippi State Coordinator Jason Thorn has contacted Jack countless times, only to continue getting ignored by them. His statement to Jack about this most recent shooting is below.

And to make matters worse, Jack in the Box is allowing some ridiculously hateful posts to remain on their Facebook page (see below). It’s quite a shame that such hatred is perpetuated, and Jack allows it.

I’ve said this before, and I’ll say it again. VOTE WITH YOUR WALLET! Stop supporting companies that make criminal lives easier. Jack in the Box has told us all loud and clear, they don’t give a DAMN about your safety! Why would we as American consumers support a company that puts criminals rights ahead of our own safety and protection? The answer is simple. Don’t go there!

DOH! Guns Banned at Jack in the Box Restaurants, Rash of Armed Robberies Follows

In the two weeks since Jack in the Box told customers they weren’t welcome inside the fast-food restaurants with their legally carried firearms, robbers carrying guns for illegal purposes have burst in to rob three of the eateries.
Just this week, four armed men held up a Houston, TX Jack in the Box, also robbing individual patrons of their personal belongings, according to police.
The two other incidents? A second in Houston, a third in Tennessee, where people were reportedly shot by gun-weilding criminals. Obviously, they didn’t respect the chain’s new no-gun policy.
That policy was imposed by Jack in the Box corporate just one day after the gun control group Moms Demand Action launched a petition to pressure the restaurant chain to enforce its guns-not-welcome policy.
We wonder if Moms Demand Action will start a new petition, insisting that criminal-types behave with more civility. Meantime, Jack in the Box is sticking with its no-guns-in-the-box policy.
