Nurse given "Darth Helmet" mask and apparently nothing else

In response to Ebola, a hospital near Dallas, Texas, gave an emergency room nurse a huge “protective mask,” which looks like it came out of Darth Helmet’s closet, and apparently nothing else for the rest of her body.

This photo emphasizes how hospitals and health workers are expected to treat Ebola without proper training or equipment, which will only increase the chances of a major pandemic.
So far, two registered nurses who treated the late Ebola patient Thomas Eric Duncan have tested positive for the disease.
“RNs from California, the District of Columbia, Florida, Massachusetts, Michigan, New York, Oregon, and Texas described widespread concerns in their hospitals about inadequate preparedness at a time when at least two nurses have been tested positive for the Ebola virus in a hospital where one patient infected by the disease has died,” National Nurses United, the largest association of nurses in the U.S., stated in a press release.

The NNU also released a statement from RNs who work at the hospital where Duncan was treated and were frustrated over “a lack of preparation and training at their hospital.”
“In the statement, the Texas RNs described confusion in the hospital over policies in responding to patients with Ebola, inadequate advance training and availability of proper personal protective equipment, and changing guidelines,” the NNU reported. “In the end, the nurses said they felt ‘unsupported, unprepared and deserted to handle the situation on their own.’”

[Watch] Expert Says This Strain of Ebola is Primed to Go Airborne, Must Be Contained in Africa

The impact of Thomas Duncan infecting the innocent people of America has already begun to have repercussions and we are only getting started. Aside from the exposure and subsequent infection of at least one care provider and potentially more, the hospital has temporarily suspended the conduct of some emergency services, impacting the community.
As is typical, the hospital is proclaiming their confidence that this outbreak can be controlled, though they and the CDC do not have an explanation for how the virus passed from Duncan to a well protected nurse who was following their highly-touted protocols.
Dr. David Sanders, an associate professor of biological science at Perdue University is an expert who has studied this particular Zaire strain of Ebola for the last eleven years. He says it has the capability to enter the lungs from the airway side, a characteristic which makes it primed for respiratory transmission. He says that with a few mutations and enough time, the virus has the potential to become an airborne transmitted disease.
He says that “Ebola is capable of entering the airway, human airway cells. We need to be taking this into consideration. ‘What if,’ this is not a crazy what if, this is not a wild what if.”
He says that the longer it spreads and mutates the more likely airborne transmission will be. He believes that we need to suppress the outbreak in Africa to stop the spread worldwide.
The fact that what passes for a U.S. government continues to allow these infected people to travel into our midst is unforgivable and begs the question as to what their true motives are. They know just as much or more than we the common folk, yet they continue to act against our best interests.
