Gang sweep in Yucaipa nets 57 arrests

During a weekend gang sweep in Yucaipa, authorities arrested 57 people and recovered drugs and guns.

More than 60 officers participated in Friday's operation by the San Bernardino County Movement Against Street Hoodlums, which targeted gang members who were on parole, probation or had arrest warrants out.

In addition to the 57 arrests, officers seized 137 ounces of marijuana, 20 ounces of methamphetamine, three guns and various items that had been reported stolen. They also towed five vehicles.

Agencies that assisted in the sweep included Fontana police, Chino police, San Bernardino police, Barstow police, county probation and county sheriff's deputies.
