    Let there be light, Lord God of hosts,
    Let there be wisdom on the earth;
    Let broad humanity have birth,
    Let there be deeds, instead of boasts.

    Within our passioned hearts instill
    The calm that endeth strain and strife;
    Make us thy ministers of life;
    Purge us from lusts that curse and kill.

    Give us the peace of vision clear
    To see our brothers’ good our own,
    To joy and suffer not alone,
    The love that casteth out all fear.

    Let woe and waste of warfare cease,
    That useful labor yet may build
    Its homes with love and laughter filled;
    God give thy wayward children peace.

    Lord, we thank Thee for the pleasure
    That our happy lifetime gives,
    For the boundless worth and treasure
    Of a soul that ever lives;

    Mind that looks before and after,
    Lifting eyes to things above;

    Human tears, and human laughter,
    And the depths of human love.

    For the thrill, the leap, the gladness
    Of our pulses flowing free;

    E’en for every touch of sadness
    That may bring us nearer Thee;

    But, above all other kindness,
    Thine unutterable love,
    Which, to heal our sin and blindness,
    Sent Thy dear Son from above.

    Teach us so our days to number
    That we may be early wise;

    Dreamy mist, or cloud, or slumber,
    Never dull our heav’nward eyes.
    Hearty be our work and willing,
    As to Thee, and not to men;

    For we know our soul’s fulfilling
    Is in Heav’n, and not ’til then.

    As you Guys Go out this week shine your light in your corner of the world.

    Jesus bids us shine
    With a pure, clear light,
    Like a little candle
    Burning in the night.

    In this world of darkness
    So let us shine—
    You in your small corner,
    And I in mine.

    Jesus bids us shine,
    First of all for Him;
    Well He sees and knows it,
    If our light grows dim.

    He looks down from Heaven
    To see us shine—
    You in your small corner,
    And I in mine.

    Jesus bids us shine,
    Then, for all around;
    Many kinds of darkness
    In the world are found—

    Sin and want and sorrow;
    So we must shine—
    You in your small corner,
    And I in mine.

    You in your small corner,
    And I in mine

    THE STAR SPANGLED BANNER

    O say, can you see, by the dawn's early light,
    What so proudly we hail'd at the twilight's last gleaming?
    Whose broad stripes and bright stars, thro' the perilous fight,
    O'er the ramparts we watch'd, were so gallantly streaming?
    And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
    Gave proof thro' the night that our flag was still there.
    O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
    O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

    On the shore dimly seen thro' the mists of the deep,
    Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
    What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
    As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
    Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
    In full glory reflected, now shines on the stream:
    'Tis the star-spangled banner: O, long may it wave
    O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

    And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
    That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion,
    A home and a country should leave us no more?
    Their blood has wash'd out their foul footsteps' pollution.
    No refuge could save the hireling and slave
    From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave:
    And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
    O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

    O thus be it ever when free-men shall stand
    Between their lov'd home and the war's desolation;
    Blest with vict'ry and peace, may the heav'n-rescued land
    Praise the Pow'r that hath made and preserv'd us a nation!
    Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
    And this be our motto: “In God is our trust!â€

    Lord Jesus Christ, my Life, my Light, My Strength by day, my Trust by night, On earth I’m but a passing guest And sorely with my sins oppressed.

    Walk in the light: so shalt thou know
    That fellowship of love
    His Spirit only can bestow
    Who reigns in light above.

    Walk in the light: and sin abhorred
    Shall ne’er defile again;
    The blood of Jesus Christ, thy Lord,
    Shall cleanse from every stain.

    Walk in the light: and thou shalt find
    Thy heart made truly His

    Who dwells in cloudless light enshrined
    In Whom no darkness is.

    Walk in the light: and thou shalt own
    Thy darkness passed away,
    Because that light hath on thee shone
    In which is perfect day.

    Walk in the light: and e’en the tomb
    No fearful shade shall wear;
    Glory shall chase away its gloom,
    For Christ has conquered there.

    Walk in the light: and thine shall be
    A path, though thorny, bright;
    For God, by grace, shall dwell in thee,
    And God Himself is light.

    Faith is the only means by which a Christian can live the Spirit-directed life We all need to continue to trust Christ moment by moment in all we do.

    I have a Friend so precious,
    So very dear to me,
    He loves me with a tender love,
    He loves me faithfully;
    I could not live apart from Him,
    I love to feel Him nigh;
    And so we dwell together,
    My Lord and I.

    Sometimes I’m faint and weary,
    He knows that I am weak;
    And as He bids me lean on Him,
    His help I’ll gladly seek;
    He leads me in the path of light,
    Beneath a sunny sky;
    And so we dwell together,
    My Lord and I.

    He knows how much I love Him,
    He knows I love Him well;
    But with what love He loveth me,
    My tongue can never tell;
    It is an everlasting love
    In ever rich supply;
    And so we dwell together,
    My Lord and I.

    I tell Him all my sorrows,
    I tell Him all my joys,
    I tell Him all that pleases me,
    I tell Him what annoys;
    He tells me what I ought to do,
    Hs tells me what to try;
    And so we dwell together,
    My Lord and I.

    He knows how I am longing
    Some weary soul to win,
    And so He bids me go and speak
    A loving word for Him;
    He bids me tell His wondrous love,
    And why He came to die;
    And so we dwell together,
    My Lord and I.

    I tell Him all my sorrowsI tell Him all my joys, I tell Him all that pleases me, I tell Him what annoys;
    He tells me what I ought to do, Hs tells me what to try;
    And so we dwell together, My Lord and I.

    Amen

    Think about where to look this week as we continue the criminal Immigration battle...

    If you from sin
    Are longing to be free,
    Look to the Lamb of God.
    He to redeem you died on Calvary,
    Look to the Lamb of God.

    Look to the Lamb of God.
    Look to the Lamb of God.
    For He alone is able to save you,
    Look to the Lamb of God.

    When Satan tempts
    And doubts and fears assail,
    Look to the Lamb of God.
    You in His strength
    Shall over all prevail,
    Look to the Lamb of God.

    Are you aweary?
    Does the way seem long?
    Look to the Lamb of God.
    His love will cheer
    And fill your heart with song.
    Look to the Lamb of God.

    Fear not when shadows on your pathway fall,
    Look to the Lamb of God.
    In joy or sorrow Christ is all in all.
    Look to the Lamb of God.

    I will look unto the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation, my God will hear me.

    My Father, hear my prayer
    Before I go to rest;
    It is Thy trustful child
    That cometh to be blest.

    Forgive me all my sin,
    And let me sleep this night
    In safety and in peace
    Until the morning light.

    Lord, help me every day
    To love Thee more and more,
    And try to do Thy will
    Much better than before.

    Now look upon me, Lord,
    Ere I lie down to rest;
    It is Thy trustful child
    That cometh to be blest
    .

    God says, "I command you to be openhanded toward your brothers and toward the poor and needy in your land"

    In his essay on self-reliance, Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote, "Do not tell me, as a good man did today, of my obligation to put all poor men in good situations. Are they my poor?"

    I Know its my job as a Christian to help the poor but I believe at the same time I have a duty to uphold the laws … I wont waste time helping any one who I know can help themselves … But even the worst criminal deserves my prayers and that all I really have to give,. I don’t see anything wrong in helping your own people and when we have it help other but that’s as far as it Goes for me and as far as I can tell that’s as far as God expects me to go .

    In regards to the Statements put out by some churches in this past week about the criminal immigrants and the deportations resulting from that illegal action… I am extremely taken back a few steps, when I read how much these people of God think America is doing some harm By Deporting criminal Immigrants ,
    and at the same time I’m disgusted by the type of people those same churches would seem to want to help and hide any criminal from justice.
    The church will and does help it own... I see not one need to help more then one time those who can help there selves.

    Before I moved to the place I live now, as a Christian for many years I am often called on to deal with requests for money, food clothing and comfort ….
    Knowing that our church and other churches in town have benevolence funds, needy and some not so needy people dropped by asking for gas money, food money, or bus money. Some of them slept in their cars. Some even had children. I’ve seen single dads that lost the wife due to drugs. Some single parents that just want a little help to get to the next check. I’ve seen the same family month by month at the free store. Some with better shoes and cloths then my own children.
    Single moms slipping into prostitution to feed habits that neither man nor beast should have. I’ve seen the wrath of living in the city and poor from dirt poor to just plan giving up on life poor … No mater the story Its my job to give and help If I can ...
    It is my job to try to discern if the need was legitimate, and if so, the best way to help. As director of a small ministry today I am committed to assisting those who feed the poor, I have to exercise the same kind of discernment…
    It leaves me many times with a bad taste in my mouth wondering who is lying and who really needs the help… I give to mine and to those who are not, I send to the place to can find for their own….
    I Believe America is doing the same...

    As it fell out upon one day,
    Rich Divès made a feast,
    And he invited all his friends,
    And gentry of the best.

    Then Lazarus laid him down and down
    And down at Divès’ door:
    “Some meat and drink, brother, Diverus,
    Bestow upon the poor.â€

    Christ Jesus hath the pow’r,
    The power to forgive,
    The pow’r to quicken whom He will,
    And make the sinner live.
    Christ Jesus hath the pow’r,
    O tell it far and near!
    O bring to Him your guilty heart,
    And grace shall banish fear!

    Christ Jesus hath the pow’r,
    The pow’r of God He wields!
    Christ Jesus hath the pow’r,
    My heart surrender yields!
    Christ Jesus hath the pow’r,
    I trust Him evermore!
    Christ Jesus hath the pow’r,
    I worship and adore!

    Christ Jesus hath the pow’r,
    The power to renew,
    The pow’r to cleanse your heart from sin,
    And make you wholly true.
    Christ Jesus hath the pow’r
    For evermore to keep;
    O none can pluck you from His hand,
    Or rob Him of His sheep!

    Christ Jesus hath the pow’r,
    The power to console,
    The pow’r to carry all your care—
    On Him your burdens roll.
    Christ Jesus hath the pow’r,
    To wipe the tear away;
    O place in Him your confidence!
    O trust Him, and obey!

    Christ Jesus hath the pow’r,
    The power to destroy,
    The pow’r to bruise your enemy
    Who would your soul annoy.
    Christ Jesus hath the pow’r,
    When on your dying bed,
    To give your soul the victory,
    The pow’r to raise the dead!

    "An old house is NEVER finished!"
    Take the shine and run with it ...

    dull as dirt
    you can´t assert the kind of light
    that might persuade
    a strict dictator to retire
    fire the army
    teach the poor origami
    the truth is in
    the proof is when
    you hear your heart start asking,
    "What´s my motivation?"

    and try as you may, there isn´t a way
    to explain the kind of change
    that would make an Eskimo renounce fur
    that would make a vegetarian barbecue hamster
    unless you can trace this about-face
    to a certain sign...

    shine
    make ´em wonder what you´ve got
    make ´em wish that they were not
    on the outside looking bored
    shine
    let it shine before all men
    let´em see good works, and then
    let ´em glorify the Lord

    out of the shaker and onto the plate
    it isn´t Karma
    it sure ain´t fate
    that would make a Deadhead sell his van
    that would make a schizophrenic turn in his crayons
    Oprah freaks
    and science seeks a rationale
    that shall excuse
    this strange behavior

    when you let it shine
    you will inspire
    the kind of entire turnaround
    that would make a bouncer take ballet
    (even bouncers who aren't happy)
    but out of the glare
    with nowhere to turn
    you ain´t gonna learn it on "What´s My Line?"

    Jesus bids us shine

    Like a little candle
    Burning in the night.
    In this world of darkness
    So let us shine—

    In Christ alone my hope is found
    He is my light, my strength, my song
    This Cornerstone, this solid ground
    Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
    What heights of love, what depths of peace
    When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
    My Comforter, my All in All
    Here in the love of Christ I stand

    In Christ alone, who took on flesh
    Fullness of God in helpless babe
    This gift of love and righteousness
    Scorned by the ones He came to save
    ‘Til on that cross as Jesus died
    The wrath of God was satisfied
    For every sin on Him was laid
    Here in the death of Christ I live

    There in the ground His body lay
    Light of the world by darkness slain
    Then bursting forth in glorious Day
    Up from the grave He rose again
    And as He stands in victory
    Sin's curse has lost its grip on me
    For I am His and He is mine
    Bought with the precious blood of Christ

    No guilt in life, no fear in death
    This is the power of Christ in me
    From life's first cry to final breath
    Jesus commands my destiny
    No power of hell, no scheme of man
    Can ever pluck me from His hand
    ‘til He returns or calls me home
    Here in the power of Christ I'll stand
