Devastating Bloomberg report: Bill and Hillary evade the estate taxes they demand others pay

Who remains for us to believe in if our faith in Hillary Clinton must now be lost?
You don't really need me to comment extensively on the character of Hillary Clinton, do you? I mean, we've kind of been over this.
That's what I thought. Let's just go to today's supporting evidence, which reminds you that people like the Clintons find ways not to be bothered with the same laws they impose on everyone else. Bloomberg blows the roof off Bill and Hillary's fancy house with this one:
Bill and Hillary Clinton have long supported an estate tax to prevent the U.S. from being dominated by inherited wealth. That doesn’t mean they want to pay it.
To reduce the tax pinch, the Clintons are using financial planning strategies befitting the top 1 percent of U.S. households in wealth. These moves, common among multimillionaires, will help shield some of their estate from the tax that now tops out at 40 percent of assets upon death.
The Clintons created residence trusts in 2010 and shifted ownership of their New York house into them in 2011, according to federal financial disclosures and local property records.
“The estate tax has been historically part of our very fundamental belief that we should have a meritocracy,” Hillary Clinton said at a December 2007 appearance with billionaire investor Warren Buffett, who supports estate taxes and is using charitable donations to reduce his eventual bill.
Without the estate tax, Hillary Clinton said, the country could become “dominated by inherited wealth.”
Nick Merrill, a spokesman for Hillary Clinton, said in an e-mail that the couple’s finances are an “open book.” He didn’t answer additional questions about their finances or her current views on the estate tax.
Now, let's offer the necessary disclaimer: Yes, this is all perfectly legal. And because of that, it completely gives the lie to Hillary's nonsense that the policies she supports will supposely help the poor and the middle class. When she argues that we need an estate tax because "we should have a meritocracy," she gives the impression that people who inherit a lot of money are going to have to pay significant chunks of it to the government, which will then use it to benefit people who need it.
This is complete Bolshevik. They will do no such thing. They will employ the very same strategies Hillary and Bill employ to avoid paying the taxes. And having served in the Senate and voted on these laws, she most likely knows the tax-avoidance tricks better than most people.
The good news, I guess, is that things have picked up for the Clintons since they were "dead broke," because dead broke people don't usually need extravagant strategies to avoid paying estate taxes.
Just in case you needed to be reminded again today: Hillary Clinton is the farthest thing from what she wants you to think she is.

Hypocrisy Much? Clintons Took Pains To Avoid Taxes They Publicly Support

According to Bloomberg, in 2010 the Clintons changed the ownership status of their New York home, which they bought in 1999 for $1.7 million, to take advantage of current estate tax rules.
What they did is divide the ownership into two separate trusts that pass to on to Chelsea after 10 years. After that period they will have to pay rent to her, but any growth in the value of the home remains outside of their estate. And thereby limit estate taxes.
Doesn’t everyone do that if they have the financial wherewithal? Isn’t it the responsible thing to do?
    Of course and of course.
But on the other hand, not everyone uses their bully pulpit to publicly support estate taxes. This is exactly what the Clintons have done.
    Consider these facts:

    1. Hillary supported capping the estate tax exemption and increasing the top rate to 45% in her last campaign for President.
    2. In 2007 she said “The estate tax has been historically part of our very fundamental belief that we should have a meritocracy.”
    3. She also said that without the state tax, the country could become “dominated by inherited wealth.”
    4. Bill vetoed a proposal to repeal the state tax in 2000.
    5. At the time he said that keeping the estate tax was an issue of “fiscal responsibility and fairness.”

In other words, do as we say, just not as we do.
