Former Resident Suspected in Massive Apartment Fire

    Dec 8, 2006 02:33 PM PST

MADISON, TN.- Metro police are looking for a former resident of a Madison apartment complex where a massive fire displaced dozens of people Thursday night.

Police have named a suspect who is the owner of the car that plowed into a building at Highland Ridge apartment complex. Police believed the driver was intoxicated. He crashed into the building, then he and a passenger fled to another building inside the complex.
Police have not tracked down that person who eyewitnesses said slammed into the building before the fire spread.

The fire started after 4 p.m. Thursday and winds whipped the flames, which spread fast throughout the entire building.

Authorities said the driver, whose identity was not released, once lived at the complex.

Jill Gorin, marketing and communications coordinator for the Nashville Area Red Cross, told NewsChannel 5 that the organization gave out debit cards to former residents to buy necessities such as bedding, coats and food. The Salvation Army is assisting displaced residents, too.

Assistant District Chief Charles Shannon of the Nashville Fire Department said that more than 50 firefighters battled the blaze, which took less than an hour to destroy nearly 30 units.

The news can hide the facts from us, but the Council members will know the score.
We need to gather info showing this was due to illegal aliens. I'll put this in Other Topics until then.
