John Edwards Admits to Affair, Denies He's Father of Lover's Child

    Friday, August 08, 2008

John Edwards admits to an affair with his former videographer, Rielle Hunter, in an interview with ABC News, though he denies tabloid reports that he is the father of her child.

In the interview, scheduled to be broadcast Friday night on ABC's Nightline, the former North Carolina senator reportedly said he repeatedly lied about the affair during his failed presidential campaign.

He told ABC News that he didn't love Hunter, 42, and knew he wasn't the father of her child because of the timing of the baby's birth on Feb. 27.

The National Enquirer first reported the allegations in October and published a new report in July on an incident between the tabloid's reporters and Edwards at a Beverly Hills hotel where Hunter reportedly was staying.

Edwards consistently refused to respond to the Enquirer's reporting until now.

What a guy!! No, he did not "love" her, of course, he doesn't have a heart, he just wanted to sleep with her, that should give his ailing wife some relief!!!

What is it about these Democrats and extramarital affairs?

Kennedy, Clinton, many more, and now Edwards.......

    UPDATE:

John Edwards Admits to Affair, Denies He's Father of Lover's Child

    Friday, August 08, 2008

John Edwards admitted to an affair with his former videographer, Rielle Hunter, in an interview with ABC News, though he denies tabloid reports that he is the father of her child.

In the interview, scheduled to be broadcast Friday night on ABC's Nightline, the former North Carolina senator said he repeatedly lied about the affair during his failed presidential campaign.

He told ABC News that he didn't love Hunter, 42, and knew he wasn't the father of her child because of the timing of the baby's birth on Feb. 27.

The National Enquirer first reported the allegations in October and published a new report in July on an incident between the tabloid's reporters and Edwards at a Beverly Hills hotel where Hunter and her child reportedly were staying.

FOXNews.com confirmed Edwards did have an encounter with reporters at the hotel and had to be escorted out. Edwards consistently refused to respond to the Enquirer's reporting, and last month refused to respond to questions from FOXNews.com on the matter.

Edwards reportedly told ABC News that his wife, who has been diagnosed with an incurable form of cancer, learned of the affair in 2006, as did his family. He said the cancer was in remission when the affair began.

But there are remaining questions over the identity of the father. A former campaign aide Andrew Young has reportedly claimed he is the father.

However, no father is listed for the child in birth records obtained by FOXNews.com. And recently released tabloid photos show Edwards holding a child, reportedly at the hotel where he is alleged to have met with Hunter.

The admission Friday all but ends the speculation about his immediate role in the campaign of Barack Obama. Edwards, who dropped out of the presidential race in January, had been previously talked about as a potential vice presidential pick, or a cabinet member. But even his possible role as a speaker at the Democratic National Convention later this month was in doubt as the rumors of the affair continued to fester without a direct rebuttal.

"I think it's safe to say that John Edwards probably will not have a speaking role at the convention," political analyst Mary Anne Marsh said. "And whether he attends remains to be seen."

Stupid is as stupid does. He had the best of life, sitting on top of the world and he blew it away. Cheated on his wife, betrayed his family and now his beloved Democrap party. In time, he will be forgiven, if he beggs for it, but he will be forgotton.

Another, government elitist- "I'm sorry." Being the best human being is truly a difficult task. (I am perfect, you know.) I can attest to this, just as can John Edwards does. Poor elitist are finding comfort in one another's errors. 50 percent of marriages are ending in divorce, and second and third marriages divorce rates are even higher. The Edwards can overcome this situation and be just as strong as any other family. All relationship require work, and if this is his child by the Ms. Hunter so be it. This child is due just the same amount of help that John would give to Elizabeth and their children. John is going to see what children without a parent goes through. I believe he will grow in knowledge and help these children in North Carolina.

John needs to - help the children of North Carolina; the guideline in the state are overlooked by judges. They use net income not gross income which can put a child into a poverty level. In other words it is not required by law that the math even be done much less proven concerning income. I have seen the Attorney General's Office actually have to step in after years of abuse by county courts in North Carolina. (The good-ole boy system is up and running well in North Carolina.) Poor children without voices - forgive - and help these children, John

Wow , great reply vmonkey . I had no idea NC was still in the dark ages on child support . Thats Not right to mother or child imo. Down here in FL you paid and paid big off the gross unadjusted income . Huge different . I hope NC can get it right for the children . But Edwards , give up on him . He's no simple man . Very wealty and all that does it give us more of same old same old . They protect their money , not the citizen .
