Iraqi President Flies To Mayo Clinic For Check Up

BAGHDAD (AP) ―
Iraqi President Jalal Talabani is on his way to the Mayo Clinic for medical treatment.

A statement from his office says Talabani left Iraq on Sunday for Jordan and is traveling to the Mayo Clinic for treatment that includes a problem with his knee.

On his way home, he will stop off in Greece to attend a conference.

The 73-year-old Talabani was admitted to King Hussein Medical Center in Amman, Jordan last year after collapsing in northern Iraq. He was later transferred to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., for follow-up treatment.
