Man Allegedly Called Sheriff’s Office and Threatened to ‘Kill Everyone in the Police Department’ — He Wasn’t So Bold in His Mug Shot

A man who allegedly called a Texas sheriff’s office threatening to “kill everyone in the police department” didn’t appear so bold in his mug shot.

The Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Department near Houston said that 53-year-old Gustavo Garcia called its dispatch office around 7:25 a.m. Thursday and made the profanity-laced threat. Authorities were able to trace Garcia’s call to his home in Stafford, where he was arrested hours later, KTRK-TV reported.

Garcia eventually confessed to the crime and can be seen crying in his mugshot.

Garcia was charged with the third degree felony charge of making a terroristic threat and is being held in the Fort Bend County Jail on $50,000 bond.



Sheriff Troy Nehls said that it was unclear whether Garcia actually planned to carry out the threat and added that there is nothing in the suspect’s history that might suggest he would have acted. However, given the current “dangerous climate for law enforcement,” Nehls wasn’t about to leave anything to chance.

“With the recent events that have happened with the targeting of police officers, the threats of killing police officers that are out there, we’re going to take this seriously,” Detective Justin White told KHOU-TV.
