Obama War Machine Announces Invasion of Syria - Start the DAMN IMPEACHMENT
Obama War Machine Announces Invasion of Syria
Infowars.com
June 14, 2012
CNN reports this afternoon that the Pentagon has finalized plans to attack Syria and forcefully depose its leader, Bashar al-Assad, under the cover of securing weapons of mass destruction and preventing “sectarian violence” it has fomented by supporting and training the Free Syrian Army.
“The U.S. military has completed its own planning for how American troops would conduct a variety of operations against Syria, or to assist neighboring countries in the event action was ordered, officials tell CNN.”
CNN says the Pentagon has “finalized its assessment of what types of units would be needed, how many troops, and even the cost of certain potential operations.”
“There is a sense that if the sectarian violence in Syria grows, it could be worse than what we saw in Iraq,” an unnamed Obama administration official told CNN.
The attack plan is similar to the one used against Libya:
The military planning includes a scenario for a no-fly zone as well as protecting chemical and biological sites. Officials say all the scenarios would be difficult to enact and involve large numbers of U.S. troops and extended operations.CNN reveals that the United States, Britain and France have discussed the attack, which they describe as “contingency scenarios,” and have trained specifically for a military intervention. They are also “sharing of intelligence about what is happening in Syria with neighboring countries including Jordan, Turkey and Israel.”
In December, Sibel Edmonds reported that “foreign military groups, estimated at hundreds of individuals,” had taken up positions in the city of al-Mafraq in northern Jordan on the Syrian border. The troops had arrived from the Ain al-Assad Air base in Iraq and a U.S. aircraft carrying military personnel landed in the Prince Hassan Air base located about 100 km to the east of the city of al-Mafraq.
CNN quotes three Defense Department officials as stating that “U.S. special forces are training and advising Jordanian troops on a range of specific military tasks they might need to undertake if unrest in Syria spills over into Jordan or poses a threat to that country.”
The officials said “Jordan’s major security concern is that if the Syrian regime were to suddenly collapse, then it would face unrest on its northern border, as well as the possibility of large refugee flows, weapons smuggling into Jordan, and potential disarray in Syria’s chemical and biological weapons complex. Jordan also is considering how and where to potentially set up humanitarian assistance bases inside its borders, another matter the U.S. is advising it on.”
The pretext for the attack on Syria is eerily reminiscent of the elaborate and transparently bogus pretext used prior to the invasion of Iraq:
U.S. satellites are monitoring the chemical and biological weapons sites around the clock, and so far “there is no reason to believe they are not secure,” one of the U.S. officials said.On June 11, Tony Cartalucci cited an RT report stating that a false flag involving “Syrian rebels deploying chemical weapons obtained in Libya against Syrian civilians, then blaming the Syrian government for the mass casualty event” would be used as a casus belli to intervene.
The U.S. believes the facilities are guarded by some of the most elite Alawite troops loyal to al-Assad. But the official noted that the opposition forces appear to be gaining strength in some areas, and that the United States, Jordan and the allies are concerned that as the amount of al-Assad controlled territory shrinks, some of those critical facilities could be open to attacks, pilfering or efforts by terrorist groups to buy material….
The overall assessment by the U.S. is that in the event some action had to be taken to secure Syrian chemical, biological or weapons facilities, troops from some country would have to enter Syria in a matter of hours.
The Pentagon did not reveal a timeline on the planned intervention, but considering the amount of detailed information released to its trusted media asset CNN it is likely the attack will come in a matter of days or weeks instead of months.

Russian arms dealer sends missile defence systems to Syria
Anatoly Isaykin tells New York Times the weapons could be used to shoot down planes or sink ships

A Russian arms dealer has said his company is shipping missile defence systems to Syria that could be used to combat international intervention in the country.
Anatoly Isaykin, the general director of Rosoboronexport, said the advanced defensive missile systems could be used to shoot down planes or sink ships.
Speaking in an interview with the New York Times, Isayakin said his disclosure was not a threat but a warning.
"I would like to say these mechanisms are really a good means of defence, a reliable defence against attacks from the air or sea. This is not a threat, but whoever is planning an attack should think about this."
The weapons that Isaykin claims he is exporting are not considered cutting edge, but will add to tensions between those who want to see more diplomatic pressure put on Syria and those who argue against international involvement – namely Russia and China.
Almost a week ago, comments made by the Russian foreign minister, Sergei Lavrov, suggested a weakening in Moscow's backing of Syria's president, Bashar al-Assad. He said that Russia would no longer stand in the way of a departure of the president.
"If Syrians agree between each other, we will only be happy to support such a solution," he said. However, he still insisted that it was "unacceptable" for any conditions of departure to come from outside the country.
Russia has continued to supply arms to Syria, including recent reports that it is preparing to send an amphibious landing vessel and security staff for military installations, although it claims that these have been for the purposes of defence and not the regime's civil campaign.
Isaykin said weaponry being shipped to Syria included the Pantsyr-S1, a radar-guided missile and artillery system capable of hitting planes at high altitudes, Buk-M2 anti-aircraft missiles and land-based Bastion anti-ship missiles, which can fire at targets 180 miles from the coast.
But Ruslan Aliyev, from the Centre for the Analysis of Strategies and Technologies in Moscow, said Isaykin's disclosure was made primarily for political effect, as Russia was not supplying its most cutting-edge weaponry.
"As far as I understand, Syria is not able to defend itself from Nato, just like it failed to defend its nuclear facility from Israel's September 2007 air strike," Aliyev told the New York Times. "Russian armaments are unlikely to be significantly helpful."
The US recently backtracked on claims that Russia had sent attack helicopters to Damascus and was forced to acknowledge that the helicopters were refurbished ones already owned by the regime.
The accusation by Hillary Clinton prompted Russia to accuse the US of hypocrisy over military equipment, including jet engines and patrol boats that were sold to Bahrain despite civil unrest in the Arab state.

Syrian Free Army... let the plunder and rape of children and women commence while the US government supports it under Obama's flag..... After all when was the last time we actually saw a free army actually trying to help and protect people rather then just gain its own power and strength.

Guns for buddies: US weapons sales surge overseas

US foreign military sales have shot over $50 billion. Another record-breaking year is expected thanks to US ally Saudi Arabia, which accounts for three-fifths of the sum.
"We have already surpassed $50 billion in sales in the fiscal year 2012," Andrew Shapiro, assistant secretary of state for political-military affairs, told journalists on Thursday.
Though it is three months till the end of the fiscal year, the figure already shows a 70 per cent increase over government-to-government military deals in 2011. Last year also set a record for the US with sales at some $30 billion.
“The sale to Saudi Arabia was very significant,” said Shapiro. The $29.4 billion deal finalized in December included 84 new fighter jets and the modernization of 70 old jets.
Former Canadian diplomat Peter Dale Scott told RT that Saudi’s big contribution to Washington’s revenues may be explained by the long standing “arms for petrol” relations between the two countries.
“During the oil price hikes of 1971 and 1973 the US negotiated an agreement to pay Saudi Arabia higher prices for crude, on the understanding that Saudi Arabia would recycle the petrodollars, many of them through arms deals,” said Professor Scott. “So recently the imports of American hardware to Saudi Arabia have grown significantly.”
The record-breaking figure also includes the sale of the Joint Strike Fighter to Japan, which is valued at approximately $10 billion, according to the State Department.
As for direct commercial sales, whereby companies sell directly to foreign governments as opposed to government-to-government sales, an official report released the previous week only accounts for 2011. That year brought US contractors some $44 billion with top customers including Jordan, Japan, Israel, Afghanistan and Pakistan.
How to join the US gun club
Shapiro also pointed out that weapons sales are licensed “to serve foreign policy interests” and brought up the trend of tying defense contracts to diplomacy. Countries willing to buy from the US have to be sure “about the nature of the relationship” with Washington.
“When a country buys an advanced US defense system through our foreign military sales, direct commercial sales or foreign military financing programs, they aren’t simply buying a product. They are also seeking a partnership with the United States. These programs both reinforce our diplomatic relations and establish a long-term security relationship,” said the official.
Can this mean that a country importing US weapons may fall under America’s influence?
“Yes, this link may be correct,” observed Professor Scott. “Hosni Mubarak’s Egypt, for instance, was the third-largest recipient of the US aid, which arrived in the shape of finances and arms. In return, Cairo granted security in the region, which first meant acceptance of Israel.”
Whether 2013 see a further increase in foreign military sales is “too early to predict,” says the US State Department
The US is expected to continue expanding into key markets, including India, which is considering a $1.4 billion deal for 22 Apache helicopters. The US Defense Security Cooperation Agency is also eyeing military sales of more than $1.1 billion to Qatar and Oman, reports ArabianBusiness.com. Qatar is considering purchase of Black hawk helicopters and missile-warning systems, while Oman might be buying missiles and military training kits.
Free weapons for Russia’s backyard?
However, it appears that some Asian countries can get US weapons for free, a report in the Russian daily Kommersant reveals. The Pentagon is engaged in talks with Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan to hand over some of their military hardware after NATO troops quit Afghanistan in 2014.
This would mean distributing armored vehicles, tank trailers, tankers, medical equipment and communication tools – everything which is not worth sending back home due to high transport costs. Pakistan, affronted by continuous drone strikes, has pushed up fees from $250 per container to $5,000.
The US reportedly intends to give away some of its equipment for free, while some of it is to be left behind for secure storage, as it may prove to be of need later – for new operations in Afghanistan or Pakistan or other Central Asian countries.
Kyrgyzstan has confirmed negotiations are under way, but officials do not believe they will get anything valuable.
“This is done to study the three countries leaders’ reactions as well as the reaction of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and Collective Security Treaty Organization,” an unnamed official in the Kyrgyz Defense Ministry told Interfax news agency.
Meanwhile, the prospects of finding US military hardware in neighboring countries have reportedly thrust Moscow into “utter bewilderment.”
“This kind of scenario is totally unacceptable for Russia. It would contradict our arrangements with Central Asian partners and violate our agreement within the Collective Security Treaty Organization,” a diplomat told Kommersant.

Clinton misfires on Russian helicopters to Syria charge
The US has acknowledged that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was incorrect when she said that Russia was supplying the Syrian government with combat helicopters, thereby leading to a “dramatic escalation” in the conflict.
US drone industry: Open for business at home and abroad
The Obama administration has continued in its enduring drive to sell drones to eager allies like Turkey. But if US clients are careless or misuse the weapons, Washington will share the blame, says Tim Brown, a senior fellow at Globalsecurity.org
Cameron to bolster weapons sales to Indonesia
British Prime Minister David Cameron will be seeking to boost weapons sales to Indonesia, which he calls “one of the world’s most important democracies”. This comes just twelve years after Britain imposed an arms embargo on the country.
In arms way: India's 'hollow' army to buy in bulk
As a recently-leaked letter scandal reveals the Indian army, one of the biggest in the world, is virtually “naked”, foreign weapons producers cast longing looks at the country’s never-shrinking military budget: over $100 billion to be spent by 2020.
