Duck Commander Star Phil Robertson’s Nephew Running for Congress!

Louisiana’s GOP political establishment is getting a shake-up from none other than Phil Robertson’s nephew. Will a ‘Duck Dynasty’ also start becoming a political dynasty?
Vance McAllister, the GOP congressman representing the 5th Congressional District in Louisiana, says he won’t seek re-election. While there is some chatter he may still run, doing so would present challenges because of a scandal involving his extra-marital relationship with a staffer. The scandal and possible retirement opens the 5th CD for a new comer, and a member of the Robertson family is looking to fill the gap.

Zach Dasher, the nephew of “Duck Dynasty” patriarch Phil Robertson, is running as a Republican for Congress in Louisiana’s 5th district, he announced Monday on Twitter.
“It is time for ordinary citizens to get off of the sidelines and get involved in the political system,” Mr. Dasher, whose mother is Mr. Robertson’s sister, said in a press release, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
“For too long, we’ve set idly by while Washington politicians slowly gain control over every aspect of our lives. I am seeking to represent the people of the 5th District in Congress so that I can effectively fight the big government intellectual elitists in Washington.”
His positions?
Mr. Dasher is pro-life, a supporter of the Second Amendment and supports an overhaul of the Department of Veterans Affairs, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
