De Borchgrave: U.S. at War with Radical Islam

    Monday, November 19, 2007 4:18 PM

By: Phil Brennan Article Font Size

The U.S. is at war not with a political movement, but with Muslim extremism on a global scale, says influential journalist and Newsmax columnist Arnaud de Borchgrave.

In an exclusive Newsmax interview, de Borchgrave warns that the situation in Pakistan, a nuclear power, is growing graver as al-Qaida and the Taliban maintain influence in key border areas and President Pervez Musharraf loses control. And while the U.S. troop surge in Iraq is showing some success, any preemptive strike against Iran would solidify Islamic fundamentalist hatred of the U.S. worldwide to disastrous effect, he says.

De Borchgrave, a former editor of the Washington Times and now director and senior adviser for the transnational threats project at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, also discusses Iran’s influence in Iraq, the U.S. presidential race, and the likelihood of al-Qaida obtaining nuclear weapons.

It sounds and looks like Ron Paul's foreign policy might be correct. They don't hate us for our freedom. they hate us because we are over there.

    you sure?

The Media and special intersts are telling us Americans that the ISLAMOFASCISTNAZI'S need to be destroyed and they are gonna kill us and rape our babies!

Wow... I can't imagine Ron Paul is right?

I mean, he was right years ago, and months ago when he repeatedly argued with the FED's about their policies, and the inevitability of the decline and crash of our economy! .... he was right when he addresed congress in 2002 in opposition about going to war with Iraw without a declaration of War.. he has been right about so many things... HE MUST be wrong here!!!! At least that is what the GOP elites are telling us.... I will believe them, the GOP, because they have navigated my party to such a powerful position these past few years and they seem to be making all the right decisions.....

If the hate freedom, they would be attacking any country that is free, but they are only attacking us and our allies. They have said they are attacking us because we occupy Islamic land and if we were not there they would stop. We just refuse to listen.

Um, the US wasn't OVER THERE in 2001 were we? The US embassy bombings and the USS Cole incident both happened when we weren't OVER THERE.

Islam is attacking countries ACROSS the globe. My friend from Eritrea had to flee Eritrea (in Africa) because muslims were slaughtering Jews and Christians. Christians have been fleeing Bethlehem and Lebanon for the same reasons: islamic persecution.

Let's rundown some of the terrorist activities of muslims in OTHER countries:

    i. England, train bombing
ii. Madrid, Spain, train bombing (Spain NEVER invaded the mideast in recent history)
iii. phillipines (the latest attempted bombing of the parliament building the kidnapping of US tourists)
iv. Israel (too many bombings to even BOTHER mentioning)
    v. Russia (slaughter of 300 innocent civilians [incl. over 150 CHILDREN])
    vi. indonesia (bombing of discoteques).

I don't believe them. Unfortunately some of our enemies only respect one thing, and that is strength. A sign of weakness will most definitely compromise our national security. The term "peace through strength" really does have legitimate meaning. Our enemies need to understand one thing - if you mess with the bull, you're going to get the horns.

My feelings on this is probably why I love this video so much:

Which would you be less likely to mess with, a Toy Poodle or a Pit Bull?
