The Preamble to the Society of Professional Journalists Code of Ethics states:
“…public enlightenment is the forerunner of justice and the foundation of democracy. The duty of the journalist is to further those ends by seeking truth and providing a fair and comprehensive account of events and issues. Conscientious journalists from all media and specialties strive to serve the public with thoroughness and honesty. Professional integrity is the cornerstone of a journalist’s credibility.” So why do so many media outlets back off when it comes to vetting the liberals? Why are they so complicit in repeating the lies to the public (with or without checking them out) in order to protect leftists?
It’s a sad, sad commentary when liberals would rather climb a tree to tell a lie than to stand on the ground to tell the truth. Sure, the right wing has had its moments of embellishment and deceit (Read my lips), but not on so grand of a scale as the left wing has. The double standard in place against the right wing is still employed by liberals each day. If we only knew what machinations were being covered up with their lies, we’d all probably be afraid . . . very afraid.
1. “I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Ms. Lewinsky, I never told anybody to lie, not a single time never. These allegations are false and I need to go back to work for the American people.”—Bill Clinton, Federal Grand Jury testimony, August, 1998. If that’s so, Bill, how did your “appendage” wind up in her mouth?
2. “While you’re saving your face you’re losing your ass. Never trust a man whose eyes are too close to his nose. I never trust a man unless I’ve got his pecker in my pocket. Better inside the tent pissing out than outside the tent pissing in.”—Lyndon B. Johnson, President of the United States, 1963-1969. The truth is, Lyndon Johnson hated John F. Kennedy and blackmailed him into selecting him as his running mate in the election of 1960. Johnson threatened to expose Kennedy’s poor health, his many marital indiscretions, and his first marriage to Durie Malcolm (Kilkenny, 2009). Kennedy’s personal secretary for 12 years was named Evelyn Lincoln. Here is a report about the Johnson blackmail:
During the 1960 campaign, according to Mrs. Lincoln, Kennedy discovered how vulnerable his womanizing had made him. Sexual blackmail, she said, had long been part of Lyndon Johnson’s modus operandi—abetted by Edgar. “J. Edgar Hoover,” Lincoln said, “gave Johnson the information about various congressmen and senators so that Johnson could go to X senator and say, `How about this little deal you have with this woman?’ and so forth. That’s how he kept them in line. He used his IOUs with them as what he hoped was his road to the presidency. He had this trivia to use, because he had Hoover in his corner. And he thought that the members of Congress would go out there and put him over at the Convention. But then Kennedy beat him at the Convention. And well, after that Hoover and Johnson and their group were able to push Johnson on Kennedy. “LBJ,” said Lincoln, “had been using all the information Hoover could find on Kennedy—during the campaign, even before the Convention. And Hoover was in on the pressure on Kennedy at the Convention” (Summers, 1993, p. 272) (Kilkenny, 2009).
3. The Chappaquiddick Incident—Democratic Senator Edward Ted Kennedy (MA), 1969—On July 18, 1969, 28-year-old Mary Jo Kopechne’s body was discovered underwater in an Oldsmobile belonging to Senator Edward “Ted” Kennedy. It was ten hours before the accident was reported. Kennedy told police that he had taken a wrong turn and accidentally driven his car off a bridge into a tidal channel on Chappaquiddick Island, MA. Mary Jo Kopechne had been one of the “boiler room girls” who had worked on Robert Kennedy’s 1968 presidential campaign. Kennedy and others had spent the weekend at a cottage with about a half a dozen of the “boiler room girls.” Kennedy pleaded guilty to a charge of leaving the scene of an accident. He received a suspended sentence. The truth is Mary Jo Kopechne is still dead. And now, so is he.
4. “Over the last 15 months, we’ve traveled to every corner of the United States. I’ve now been in 57 states? I think one left to go.”—Barack Obama, Beaverton, OR, 2008 presidential campaign. Mainstream media chalked it up to Obama being tired on the campaign trail. Could it be that he was actually referring to the 57 states of Islam?
5. “America and Islam are not exclusive and need not be in competition. Instead, they overlap, and share common principles of justice and progress, tolerance and the dignity of all human beings.” Barack Obama, June, 2009 Cairo speech—He falsely portrayed what amounts to authoritative Islam, namely Shariah Islam, as something that is “not exclusive,” that “overlaps” and “need not be in competition” with “America.” Actually, Shariah is, by its very nature, is a program that obliges its adherents to demand submission of all others, Muslims (especially secular and apostate ones) and non-Muslims, alike (Gaffney, 2009).
6. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi accused the CIA of giving her “inaccurate and incomplete information”on the use of waterboarding and other harsh interrogation tactics by the Bush administration. She said that CIA officials are guilty of “misleading the Congress of the United States.”—Nancy Pelosi, May, 2009—Newt Gingrich, R-GA, said that Nancy Pelosi, D-CA, “has lied to the House,” when she claimed that she was never briefed by the CIA about the Bush administration’s use of waterboarding and other harsh tactics. “I think she has lied to the House, and I think that the House has an absolute obligation to open an inquiry, and I hope there will be a resolution to investigate her,” Gingrich said. (Klein, 2009).
7. “You will not see any of your taxes increase one single dime.”—Barack Obama. Sure.
8. ”These two entities—Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac—are not facing any kind of financial crisis. The more people exaggerate these problems, the more pressure there is on these companies, the less we will see in terms of affordable housing.”—Barney Frank,
D-MA—Ranking Democrat on the Financial Services Committee, 2003. “In truth, the Bill that would have likely averted the Fannie/Freddy failure—the Federal Housing Enterprise Regulatory Reform Act of 2005 (S. 190)—was Republican legislation introduced by Sen. Charles Hagel, R-NE, in January of 2005. And it was the Democrats who opposed it in committee, fearing that its restrictions and portfolio caps might impair mortgage market liquidity, and subsequently, affordable housing. Despite the “nay” votes of all 9 Democrats on the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs, the bill moved to the Senate floor, where it died in limbo lacking a filibuster-proof majority. The Bill was reintroduced in the 110th Congress as S. 1100, but was kept on ice by committee chairman Chris Dodd, who, coincidently, received $133,900 in grease from Fannie and Freddie over the past decade” (Sheppard, 200. Barney Frank is still in denial.
9. “If you actually took the number of Muslim Americans, we’d be one of the largest Muslim countries in the world.”— Barack Obama, French television Canal Plus, 2009—He also said that Muslims in the United States are slightly more educated and have more money than the rest of the population so “the clash does not really fit the reality in the U.S.” Michael Rubin, a resident scholar at the American Enterprise Institute said, “All politicians pander. Obama is raising it to a global level. First of all, it’s false: Even if you take the inflated numbers that Islamic advocacy organizations claim, Muslims are a tiny, tiny, minority in the United States” (Weber, 2009).
10. It seems that Hillary Clinton has selective memory also. Dick Morris names a few on her scorecard: 1) Chelsea was jogging around the Trade Center on September 11, 2001. The truth is she was watching TV at home in bed. 2) Hillary was named after Sir Edmund Hillary. The truth is that he climbed Mt. Everest five years after she was born. 3) She was under sniper fire in Bosnia. The truth is a little girl presented her flowers at the end of the ramp.
4) She learned in the Wall Street Journal how to make a killing in the futures market. The truth is the Wall Street Journal didn’t cover the markets back then (Morris, 200.
11. “Reverend Wright and other African-Americans of his generation . . . came of age in the late fifties and early sixties, a time when segregation was still the law of the land.”—Barack Obama. The truth is segregation was not “the law of the land” in the 1950s. It was the law in a minority of states (Derbyshire, 200.
12. “I can make a firm pledge, under my plan, no family making less than $250,000 a year will see any form of tax increase. Not your income tax, not your payroll tax, not your capital gains taxes, not any of your taxes.—Barack Obama, 2008 presidential campaign.
13. “I found this national debt, doubled, wrapped in a big bow waiting for me as I stepped into the Oval Office.”—Barack Obama, 2009. The truth is, in the first 19 months of the Obama administration, the federal debt held by the public increased by $2.5260 trillion, which is more than the cumulative total of the national debt held by the public that was amassed by all U.S. presidents from George Washington through Ronald Reagan” (Norris, 2010).
14. “It’s time to fundamentally change the way that we do business in Washington. To help build a new foundation for the 21st century, we need to reform our government so that it is more efficient, more transparent, and more creative. That will demand new thinking and a new sense of responsibility for every dollar that is spent.”—Barack Obama, 2009. The truth is: Obama sealed his own records by executive order, which means the public has no right to see his birth certificate, school records, passport, college papers, etc. We’ve heard the wind blow before.
15. “No one is pro-abortion.”—Barack Obama, 2008. The truth is, Obama said, “I’ve got two daughters. 9 years old and 6 years old. I am going to teach them first of all about values and morals. But if they make a mistake, I don’t want them punished with a baby.”
16. “One of the great strengths of the United States is . . . we have a very large Christian population – we do not consider ourselves a Christian nation or a Jewish nation or a Muslim nation. We consider ourselves a nation of citizens who are bound by ideals and a set of values.”—Barack Obama, 2009. See the answers to lies 5 and 9.
17. “We need earmark reform, and when I’m President, I will go line by line to make sure that we are not spending money unwisely.” (2008 Obama campaign promise). That hasn’t happened yet, to my knowledge.
18. Lyndon Johnson concealed adverse information about the progress of the Vietnam War. He designed it to show strong support of the American people, reportedly as a tool for negotiating peace. The defense contracts generated from the Vietnam War benefited Johnson and his friends. Therefore, military leaders were instructed to report only good news. The truth is that during the Tet offensive, Robert Kennedy said that the Tet offensive “shattered the mask of public illusion. Johnson’s deceit in misleading the electorate affected an entire generation and caused him to drop out of the presidential race (“The top 10 lies in history”, 2006-2007).
19. “We have run out of places in the US to drill for oil.”—Barack Obama’s oval office speech, June, 2010. ANWR?
20. “I cannot guarantee that those checks go out on August 3rd if we haven’t resolved this issue. Because there may simply not be the money in the coffers to do it.”—Barack Obama, 2011 interview with CBS News.
And the lies go on and on. The spin doctors in Washington keep rationalizing the lies to the American people, and a good number of them (the lemmings) keep buying it. With at least a million people who were better qualified to serve as president, why did the Shadow Party pick Barack Obama? Why did they write his book, invent his web persona, and bankroll his campaign with millions? It seems that without their double standards, the left wouldn’t have any at all.
