Senate Democrats Call for Biden to Enact Climate ‘Emergency’ to Send Energy Prices Through the Roof

At a time that energy prices are skyrocketing, Senate Democrats are urging the Biden regime to propose a climate change “emergency” and further curtail the oil and gas industry.
Because Congress cannot pass “Green New Deal”-style legislation, radical leftists in the Senate are calling for Biden to unilaterally take power. This power grab would allow the Biden administration to funnel more funds to green energy scams and hurt the fossil fuels industry.

“The potential to enact the legislation is dead,” said Sen. Jeff Merkley (D-OR) to reporters Monday evening during a press conference on Capitol Hill. “This then frees up the president to use the full powers of the executive branch. And those full powers certainly include a climate emergency.”
“I made my case that it’s time for urgent action,” Sen. Ed Markey (D-MA) said on Monday. “My hope is his actions will be as bold as the problem requires.”

Biden said last week that he would “not back down” on combating climate change and claimed he would “take strong executive action to meet this moment.”
