President Trump arrives at the airport in Chattanooga, TN at 6:22 pm EST. He greets the awaiting crowd with waves and is accompanied by Vice President Mike Pence and Congressman Marsha Blackburn.

CHATTANOOGA - President Donald Trump landed at Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport, just before 6:30 p.m., and has just departed for McKenzie Arena.
Vice President Mike Pence arrived a short time ago.
The arena, where Trump's 7 p.m. rally will be held, has filled to its capacity of 12,000 and many people still lined up outside are receiving word they won't get in and are starting to leave.
The line of thousands more, many waiting all day and some since last night, snakes around the block and down the street from the arena.
Crowds line opposite sides of the street, one group waving Trump signs and the other waving protest banners. Competing chants of "No hate, no fear," and "Build the wall" are ringing out.

Blackburn one of 300 guests at airport
Republican U.S. Senate candidate Marsha Blackburn is one of 300 guests invited to attend the arrival of the president at the Wilson Air Center at Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport.
She arrived by 5 p.m. Sunday. The rally is slated to begin at 7 p.m. at the arena on the campus of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
Trump, holding a "Make America Great Again" rally, said earlier on Sunday that Republican voters are enthusiastic about how well the economy is doing, want border security and “don’t want to pay for other people’s health care," he said.
Trump emerged from the White House at 1:40 p.m., and chatted with the press before boarding Marine 1, for a 4 p.m. Macon, Georgia event.
He touted the chances of candidates he will see in Georgia and Tennessee, such as Tennessee's Republican Senate candidate Marcia Blackburn and Brian Kemp, Republican candidate for Georgia governor. He predicted Republicans will do well in next week's elections, particularly in the Senate.
He is expected to arrive in Chattanooga by approximately 6:20 p.m. for the evening rally showing his support for Blackburn. Doors to the arena opened at 2 p.m.
Blackburn is running against Democrat Phil Bredesen. Former Gov. Bredesen had his own event at 1 p.m. in Chattanooga.
What is Trump saying on Sunday?
The president accused Democrats of wanting “open borders” with tens of thousands of people pouring into our country.
He said Republicans in Congress are working on a middle class tax cut bill that will be introduced when Congress returns after the election.
“The level of fervor, the level of fever is very strong on the Republican side. I can’t speak to the blues, but I can speak to the reds,” said Trump.
Trump said he can’t campaign for all GOP House members because there are so many, but believes he’s made a “big difference” in as many as seven Senate campaigns. He predicted Republicans would do well in the House and “really well” in the Senate.

“These rallies are the best thing we’ve done,” he said.
When asked about Iran sanctions, Trump described them as “the strongest sanctions we’ve ever imposed.” He said that when he took office, it looked like Iran would take over the Middle East. Now, nobody is talking about that.
“We’ll see what happens with Iran, but they’re not doing very well,” he said
When asked if he believes there was voter suppression in Georgia, Trump said, “No,” and talked about Brian Kemp’s “extraordinary” gubernatorial campaign, and how a lot of Republicans are voting because they want to see Georgia go forward, not backwards.
He said Kemp is “running a great campaign and I think he’ll be a fantastic governor of Georgia.”
“He studied for this job for a long time,” said Trump “He will be a great executive.”
He also said Marsha Blackburn is doing “tremendously well.”
Thousands began lining up early
Thousands of supporters lined up early outside McKenzie Arena for the president's Make America Great again rally. Roads immediately surrounding the arena downtown were blocked off by police.
The line began forming at 2 a.m., but 68-year-old Karen Schooley, her two siblings and cousin parked on the street by the facility at 11 a.m. Saturday.

Schooley said when the group went to Trump's rally in Johnson City, they were around 30th in line. They were determined to be first this time - and they succeeded.
About 300 outside protesting
Kelly Gregory drove 200 miles to protest outside Sunday’s rally.
“I want to be the last person in Tennessee to die because I couldn’t get health care,” she said.
Gregory said she lost access to health care prior to passage of the Affordable Care Act due to a pre-existing condition and learned to late she had advanced breast cancer. She believes Blackburn would join a Republican Congress in voting to repeal the ACA’s remaining provisions.
“I think she’ll do what she’s always promised to do,” Gregory said. “She’s voted against the ACA every chance she’s had. People need to know this can happen to anyone at any time. I’m a dire warning.”
Joseph and Leah Fain brought the family to demonstrate against Trump’s rally Sunday.
Their daughters - Elwen, 7, and Lulu, 6 - each made signs for the occasion. Elwen’s read: “Make America Love Again.”

“We’re out here for common decency, human rights and democracy,” their father said. “I would be willing to debate about policy. I don’t mind that. But he’s calling into question basic human rights, like abolishing the 14th Amendment by executive order, when he’s supposed to be representing all of us.”
The parents said they hesitated at first but decided the protest would be a learning moment - for children and adults alike.

“We wanted to show them how to stand up for peace instead of just getting angry,” their mother said. “We felt like we had to do this.”
Others in the crowd chanted and shouted. The family held their signs high.
“We all have to live together,” the father said. “We each need to come out here and see the people on the other side are people we know and share a community with. We get along in everyday life. Why do our politics have to be divided?”

Other signs in the crowd ranged from the by-now customary - “Love trumps hate,” Abolish ICE,” and “Make America kind again” - to the last-minute originals.
“While you’re inside, we’re taking your guns,” read a hastily scrawled message on a chunk of cardboard in Jake Balser’s hand.
“I forgot to make a sign,” he said with a shrug.
Temus Terry won’t be shouting, but he wanted to speak his mind.
That’s what the father of two says brought him to protest outside Trump’s rally in support of Blackburn.

Terry brought along a sign covered with photos of his sons, Tristan, 7, and Aiden, 2.
“I’m not out here for the rhetoric,” Terry said. “I don’t know anybody else here. I’m out here because I don’t agree with the way this guy is dividing our country, and I want a nation where my two boys can grow up with equality for all.”
Terry graduated from UTC in 2003 and said he couldn’t believe the news his alma mater would be the site of Sunday’s rally. He said he’s watched in anger and disappointment as Trump condemned NFL players for kneeling during the national anthem to protest inequality and at Blackburn’s recent ads portraying the migrant caravan approaching the U.S.-Mexico border as a threat.
“Everybody who voted for Trump might not be racist,” Terry said. “But you can't ignore the hate and division he’s creating.”
Lauryn Bond, 19, a sophomore at UTC, voted for the first time in August's primary.
This fall, she voted by absentee ballot in her home county, Haywood, for Bredesen.
"Being an African American and being able to vote, that was really my motivation."
"Everything she says just kind of backs up Trump," Bond said of Blackburn.
Far more Trump supporters
"He's keeping his promises," said David Pitre, 75, of Brandon, Mississippi. "He's making the Democrats mad."
Schooley, of Murphy, North Carolina, her brother Pitre and two other family members quickly met up at the front of the line with Kristina Pittman 42, and her husband Rodney, 48, of Dalton, Georgia.
It's the couple's first Trump rally.
Rodney Pittman said he was never interested in politics until Trump took office.
Trump 'loves this country'
"He makes me feel like he loves this country more than we do," Rodney Pittman said. "I can't quit watching Fox."
The line snaking between barriers set up in the parking lot is a sea of red MAGA hats.
For sale on the streets all around the arena is Trump merchandise, including T-shirts like "Border Wall Construction Co." and "Adorable Deplorable."

'Trump can't be bought out'
Randy Evans, 41, of Cleveland, Tennessee, brought his three boys ages 8, 9 and 12. He said Trump "isn't a politician."

But Evans still hasn't decided whether he's voting Blackburn or Bredesen in the Senate race.
While he didn't vote for Bredesen for governor, Evans said he's looking for "honesty and truth" and someone to "make things right on the Hill."
Michael Symonette, 59, of Miami, ran around the crowd stirring up cheers as he held a sign reading "Blacks for Trump."
Symonette said he was at Trump's rally Saturday in Pensacola. He is a regular attendee at the president's rallies.

Lee Greenwood to perform
Trump announced Sunday that country music star Lee Greenwood will perform "God Bless the USA” at Sunday's Chattanooga event and at Trump's last midterm rally in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, on Monday.
“Lee Greenwood’s ‘God Bless the USA’ has been a fixture of our iconic Trump rallies and is beloved by millions of patriotic Americans. President Trump will be pleased to have Lee perform in person to end his historic, national midterm campaign tour on a red, white, and blue high note,” said Michael Glassner, Chief Operating Officer of Donald J. Trump for President, Inc., in a news release.
Conservative media icons Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity will make appearances at the final stop of Trump’s national midterm campaign tour on Monday evening in Cape Girardeau. Limbaugh is a native of Cape Girardeau. Hannity, a Fox News host and syndicated radio host, are longtime friends of Trump.

The president is expected to arrive in Chattanooga Sunday at 6:20 p.m., for another stop in East Tennessee to show his support for Blackburn ahead of Election Day Tuesday.
Tickets to Sunday's event were free, but attendees were asked to register for them online at donaldjtrump.com.
The race between Blackburn and Democratic challenger Bredesen has received much attention across the Volunteer State throughout the midterm campaign season, as well as national attention, as they vie to replace retiring U.S. Sen. Bob Corker.

President Trump visits East Tennessee
Republicans have a 51-49 lead in the Senate with the tie-breaking vote belonging to Vice President Mike Pence, who is expected to be at Sunday's rally. Predictions of the Senate flipping have cooled a bit, but the seat is still vitally important to Republicans.
The Republicans' majority in the House may be in jeopardy too.
Bredesen held an interfaith prayer lunch with faith and community leaders at the Bessie Smith Cultural Center from 1-2 p.m.

Thousands of people waited hours in line in Johnson City and didn’t get in the door to the rally.
Tickets to Sunday's Chattanooga event are free, but attendees were asked to register for them online at donaldjtrump.com.
UTC prepared for President Donald Trump's visit on Sunday by meeting with the Secret Service, closing parking areas and increasing security on campus.
Sunday's rally brought changes and closures to campus, including the closing of several parking lots and campus buildings. Parking lots began closing at noon on Thursday to prepare for the rally.

Tickets were available for free on a first-come, first-served basis on Trump's website. George Heddleston, vice chancellor of communications and marketing at UTC, said "parking will be 'find what you can.'"
"Normal campus parking will not be available," Heddleston said, adding that most people who attend will have to park off-campus and walk uphill to McKenzie Arena.
"The other thing we'd recommend ... is to bring a water bottle and wear comfortable shoes because the lines could be a couple of hours," Heddleston said. "We advise that if you really want to get in, get there before 4 p.m."
Roads around campus were closed on Sunday.
Heddleston said most of the main entrances to campus were closed, and people are encouraged to use access points along McCallie Avenue.
Trump's third visit here for Blackburn
The visit is Trump's third to the Volunteer State on behalf of Blackburn and his fifth to Tennessee since taking office in January 2017. Vice President Pence also campaigned for Blackburn in Knoxville in September.

Ahead of the Chattanooga rally, Trump will be in Macon, Georgia — about 200 miles from Chattanooga — for a 4 p.m. rally in favor of Republican gubernatorial candidate Brian Kemp, who is locked in a heated race with Democrat Stacey Abrams.
University of Tennessee political science professor Anthony Nownes said Trump's last-ditch stop in Tennessee probably won't move the political needle much, but could make a difference in a close race.

President Barack Obama came in 2013 to tour an Amazon facility. Before him, George W. Bush came in 2007, George H. W. Bush in 1992, President Ronald Reagan in 1987 and President Lyndon B. Johnson visited in 1964. Way back in 1940, President Franklin D. Roosevelt made an address at the Chickamauga Dam Celebration.
