Technically, both Hitlery and hubby Bill are Communitarians, (see http://plato.stanford.edu/entries/communitarianism/). For example, Bill Clinton has openly praised the communitarian philosophy espoused by Amitai Etzioni, and Hitlery's It Takes a Village is fairly dripping with communitarian sentiments. Communitarianism is almost absolutely antithetical to the ideals upon which this nation was founded, which include personal liberty and accountability and personal independence. The founding principles place the individual at the pinnacle of power and authority and place all other powers beneath that individual liberty as powers granted by the consent of the governed. Communitarianism describes all power and responsibilities and indeed even defines individuals in the context of community and communal goals, needs, responsibilities and obligations. It is a sort of soft Communism that, unlike Marxism, eschews iron-fisted control by a central authority for more subtle, yet no less intransigent, forms of coercion.
