MACAO, Feb. 20 (Xinhua) -- The government of Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR), authorized by China's central government, and the Iceland government Friday signed here the Agreement of Readmission of Persons with Unauthorized Stays.

The signing ceremony was held at Macao SAR Government Headquarters, in which the SAR's Secretary for Administration and Justice, Florinda da Rosa Silva Chan, and the Ambassador of Iceland in Beijing, Mr. Gunnar Snorri Gunnarsson, representing the two governments respectively, signed the agreement.

Both parties deem that the agreement, formed on the basis of reciprocal principle, will establish an efficient and effective procedure of identity verification and repatriation of those who do not fulfill or no longer fulfill the requirements of immigration, stay or abode in the Macao SAR or Iceland, according to a press release from the SAR government.

The agreement will be effective from the first day of the second month after the two sides received the written confirmation of the completion of relevant procedures from each other.

I am curious why Iceland and China linked this agreement?

It's too bad that most of our government has been paid to look the other way on immigration and won't protect the good people of America.

I don't know why Iceland and China linked this agreement but I agree with the principle of stopping immigration. Perhaps they see how America is being ravaged by the illegal immigration beast and it's greed-inspired politcal and business advocates.

Hmm...How many illegal Chinese are living in Iceland? All of 100! Meanwhile, isn't the United States having a seemingly horrific time reparating those Chinese citizens that have committed crimes and or are otherwise in the United States illegally.

Has China been willing (what's our trade deficit with China again) to enter into such an agreement with the US? Or has the United States even pushed the issue! I know how sensitive our so called "leaders" are about possibly offending China!
