CCRKBA: Filibuster Senate Debate On Anti-Gun Bill S. 649 - No New Gun Laws Needed

Filibuster Senate Debate On Anti-Gun Bill S. 649
Unless Amended To Protect Our Rights

URGENT GUN ALERT: Senators voted to start the debate on Bill S. 649, AKA -Safe Communities, Safe Schools Act of 2013. It is only the first procedural hurdle anti-gunners had to jump through to start the discussion on the floor of the Senate.
Here is how it works: Next, the Bill will be subject to amendments during the debate. But to pass S. 649 in the U.S. Senate, the bill must also pass a cloture vote to close the floor debate and force a vote: 60 Senators must vote to end the discussion and debate, calling for all 100 Senators to vote on passage. Without 60 YES votes for "cloture,"THE DEBATE CONTINUES WITH THE POSSIIBILITY OF DEATH BY FILIBUSTER.
That's exactly what we want! If the full Senate never votes on any Second Amendment killing anti-gun bill, it can't pass.
Now is the time to support Senators Rand Paul, Ted Cruz and Mike Lee were joined by Mitch McConnell and Fourteen other Senators who HAVE announced that they will FILIBUSTER to STOP THE VOTE AND STOP THE BILL from becoming law.
SUPPORT THE FILIBUSTER, KILL THE GUN BILL TODAY!

The extreme anti-gun liberal left is already declaring victory - claiming they have the 60 votes to force passage of the bill and any backroom deals to impose new anti-gun laws on gun owners. Obama supports the gun bans and sides with those Senators who are attacking the filibuster saying "I do not understand it."

The battle lines are being drawn and Senators are digging in. Several other Republican senators sent a letter to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, saying they would oppose a bill that "would infringe on the American people's constitutional right to bear arms, or on their ability to exercise this right without being subjected to government surveillance."
Even the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) says they have "serious concerns" about the potential bill and have said this new "gun bill could threaten both privacy rights and civil liberties." The bill also makes an unreported missing firearm a one way trip straight to five years in prison.
According to the ACLU the anti-gun bill could violate both our privacy rights and civil liberties. The concern for universal background checks that may be included in the bill are not for the actual background checks and the concern lies with what they do with that purchaser's information once the background checks and purchases are long over.
NOW IS THE TIME TO TELL EVERY SENATOR TO SUPPORT THE FILIBUSTER KILL THE GUN BILL TODAY!

ACLU's Chris Calabrese's concern with what was proposed by Senator Schumer:

"...we also believe those checks have to be conducted in a way that protects privacy and civil liberties. So, in that regard, we think the current legislation, the current proposal on universal background checks raises two significant concerns."
"The first is that it treats the records for private purchases very differently than purchases made through licensed sellers. Under existing law, most information regarding an approved purchase is destroyed within 24 hours when a licensed seller does a check now, and almost all of it is destroyed within 90 days."
Calabrese did not say the current legislation includes a "National gun registry" but that it could be an easy "second step."
The completely unreasonable Section 123 of the new bill adds a new provision to section 922 of title 18 of the U.S. Code:
"It shall be unlawful for any person who lawfully possesses or owns a firearm that has been shipped or transported in, or has been possessed in or affecting, interstate or foreign commerce, to fail to report the theft or loss of the firearm, within 24 hours after the person discovers the theft or loss, to the Attorney General and to the appropriate local authorities."
The anti-gunners use scare tactics and tragedies to push their anti-gun agenda. We are constantly publishing the facts and information that shows gun control legislation is not the solution and is ineffective. Take a look at the very interesting results of an independent Harvard study.
The Harvard study appeared in Volume 30, Number 2 of the Harvard Journal of Law & Public Policy (pp. 649-694), set out to answer the question in its title: Would Banning Firearms Reduce Murder and Suicide? A Review of International and Some Domestic Evidence." The findings of two criminologists - Prof. Don Kates and Prof. Gary Mauser - in their exhaustive study of American and European gun laws and violence rates show that:
Nations with stringent anti-gun laws generally have substantially higher murder rates than those that do not. The study found that the nine European nations with the lowest rates of gun ownership (5,000 or fewer guns per 100,000 population) have a combined murder rate three times higher than that of the nine nations with the highest rates of gun ownership (at least 15,000 guns per 100,000 population).
You will never hear a word of this from the liberal media, anti-gun crowd, or extreme leftists such as Feinstein. The facts are crystal clear; more gun control means less law abiding citizens have guns which means crime is easier for criminals because...this just in...CRIMINALS DO NOT OBEY THE LAW! Let our U.S. Senate know we will not stand for more gun control, it is ineffective!

We need to remember that when our Government was formed and our Constitution was written it was designed to give the states, not the Government, the power to decide for themselves. In a time where Government is growing exponentially it is important to remember that our state can control its own destiny and does not have to follow in the footsteps of big brother.

Since the re-election of Obama there has been constant pressure and threats toward our Second Amendment. The only way to counteract these threats is for Law Abiding gun owners to stand up against them. We must let our Senators know we do not support any of these proposed anti-gun laws. We voted them in office, they work for us, and they need to protect the rights of our United States' law abiding citizens.
ANTI-GUNNERS HAVE PROPOSED HUNDREDS OF NEW LAWS - MORE EVERYDAY - WE HAVE A LOT OF WORK TO DO AND WE NEED YOUR HELP.
