McCain; If we leave, they will follow?

McCain; If we leave, they will follow.
Who will follow? How can Iraqis follow us home if we leave? Are they going to swim and why will they follow us? They cannot even control Iraq. How in the hell will they get here if we secure of borders, ports and air space? 5 years after 9-11 and our country is still not secure from terrorist and illegal aliens. I am not sure if Homeland Security believe they are really a threat. We are not containing terrorist by being in Iraq and fighting Iraqis. Why have we taken our war against terrorist to Iraq when Iraq had nothing to do with 9-11 and terrorist were not in Iraq before our invasion and only 10% of those fighting us are terrorist.
I don’t think Iraqis appreciate us using Iraq to fight our war against terrorist and they believe if we leave, terrorist will leave also. If they are going to follow us then the Iraqis will have their country back and the war will be over. We have destroyed a people and a country who was and never would have been a threat to our freedom. That is a war crime and Bush, Cheney and the administration should be on trial.
Four years in Iraq is enough already. Bring our troops home now. We cannot win this war because it is not ours to win.
McCain is beginning to sound like a stuck record; “If we leave they will follow.” We cannot round up 12 illegal aliens and deport them.” Same old rhetoric. Same old excuse.

McCain said the U.S. public, which strongly opposes a troop increase in polls, should be made “more aware of the consequences of failure” in Iraq. “If we leave Iraq, I am convinced that al-Qaida and terrorist organizations will want to follow us home.”

Why, can't they figure out how to get here on their own?

    Ridiculous fear inducing manipulational rhetoric.
Secure the borders! Duh, maybe then they won't get here so easily!

Who is the enemy? What is the enemy going to do if we leave? Will the follow us home or will they take over Iraq. Does that mean we never leave? And what is going to stop them from taking over whenever we do leave? If we set a time line to leave and the enemy set back and wait, then that would give our troops time to “get the job done.” None of this rhetoric make any logic.

Bush plans to unite the Kurds (north) the Sunni (middle) and the the Shiite (south) into one peacefully co-existing power is just a impossible dream in my opinion. We have yet to learn the lesson that democracy cannot be forced upon people by a foreign power. Three separate regions should be given to each group with its own space, relief from violence and a viable economy.

The Shiites, Sunnis, and Kurds should be allowed to re-divide the country into three regions corresponding to the historical divisions reflected in the recent elections. Since Baghdad sits on the natural boundary (Tigris River) between the Shiite and Sunni regions it would be divided between the two groups. The traditional Sunni region would need to develop its own oil fields (there are vast reserves in western Iraq) and also receive oil revenue from the Shiite and Kurd regions in the meantime. This would be a tremendous motivation for each group to succeed on its own terms rather than continue inter-group fighting.

The KURDS are the only peoples in that area who are capable of any kind of Democracy at this time.

One cannot break the back of the tribe nature. One cannot change their 1500 year belief that it's holy to lie and connive the infidel for allah's greater good.

And without doubt, the final straw that completely voided any possible credibility of the administration/CONGRESS is the fact that the borders are wide open.

But none of that matters within the larger picture. We MUST WIN and Patreas must be allowed to do what he does best. We need to clean out the nest now that we've drawn them into it. To leave is ludicrous as the enemy will have a completely free rein to move about at will. NOT SMART. I do hope that folks remember the Russian school! Israel's school busses. And BERUIT
