Republicans control the committee, the Republicans control the Senate to at least confirm a Supreme Court nominee, we don't have enough Republicans to pass legislation, but WE CAN NOMINATE JUDGES! Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) has led the effort to investigate sexual assault claims against Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh. Democrats refused to take part, and instead attacked the investigation as "partisan," demanding the red herring of an FBI investigation instead (an idea Joe Biden himself has attacked). Grassley's staff have received disgusting threats and name-calling.
Grassley's office sent six examples of these attacks to PJ Media on Thursday. Once again, allegedly feminist protesters are wishing for pro-life people to get raped.
"You're a disgusting excuse for a human being, and I don't know how you can live with yourself," one caller told a Grassley staff member. "I hope you never have children because they'll be just as worthless as you are."
"You're racist trash," another caller said.
"Senator Grassley doesn't have a spine and neither do you b*tch," another yelled.
"I just wanted to call and tell you that you are a piece of sh*t and Senator Grassley is a f*cking piece of sh*t and he can't die from a heart attack soon enough," another caller said.
"I feel really sorry for women like you — outside of your office you're probably disturbed by this but apparently you have a job to do," another caller said.
The worst call actually wished rape on a Grassley staffer. "I hope you get raped so you can understand what that woman is going through," the caller said.
Grassley's staff are not the first to receive such threats. Christine Blasey Ford, Kavanaugh's first sexual assault accuser, and Judge Kavanaugh and his family have also received similar attacks.
"I understand that both Dr. Ford and Judge Kavanaugh have been through a terrible past few weeks," Grassley said in his opening remarks on Thursday during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing into Ford's allegations. "They and their families have received vile threats."

Grassley condemned these threat as "unacceptable and a poor reflection on the state of our politics. So I want to apologize to you both for the way you’ve been treated. I intend to make today’s hearing safe, comfortable, and dignified. I hope my colleagues will join me."
While Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) has publicly championed the claims of Ford and other accusers, she did not act on the allegations when they could have been kept private. Ford requested that she remain anonymous, but when Feinstein met privately with Kavanaugh, she refused to bring up these allegations.

Instead, Feinstein used them as a last-ditch effort to prevent a vote on Trump's nominee. This whole media circus, which Christine Blasey Ford lamented on Thursday, is arguably Feinstein's fault.
Grassley noted this in his opening remarks. "Dr. Ford first raised her allegations in a secret letter to the Ranking Member nearly two months ago in July. The Ranking Member took no action," Grassley said. "The letter wasn’t shared with me, our colleagues, or my staff. These allegations could’ve been investigated in a way that maintained the confidentiality Dr. Ford requested."

I hear and understand what you're saying. However, I'll never be convinced he will come to our side on immigration and border security. Actually, I would be more concerned about Sen. Graham encouraging Trump than vice versa. Graham has never seen an illegal amnesty bill he didn't like and that includes a DACA amnesty. But he also said of President Trump's immigration proposal, “You don’t need $25 billion for a wall” on the U.S.-Mexico border.

The White House is set to present a framework to Congress that would include a pathway to citizenship for as many as 1.8 million undocumented immigrants who were brought into the U.S. illegally as children. The proposal also calls for $25 billion in funding for a border wall and other border-security measures, plus new restrictions on legal immigration such as ending the visa lottery system and limiting family-based migration.
