Mexico City shuts off main water pipeline

Mexico City shuts off main water pipeline

    The Associated Press
    2:30 p.m. April 9, 2009

MEXICO CITY — Mexico City has turned off the tap to millions of residents because water reserves have reached historic lows.

The two-day shutdown of a main pipeline starting Thursday affects at least 5 million of the 20 million people in the Mexico City valley. It is the third time this year the metropolis has temporarily turned off the tap to conserve water.

The water restrictions come as many residents are out of town for Holy Week.

An unusually dry rainy season last year left the city's Cutzamala water system at 47 percent capacity compared to 85 percent in previous years. The system supplies 20 percent of the area's water.

The government says it will restore 50 percent of service Saturday and full service by Wednesday.

    They are packing right now.
And you never turn off water for two days. If you turn it off, you turn it off during peak usage. Isn't this some sort of human rights violation?

Either that, or fast-track the SPP/NAU so they can 'tap' into Canada's water resources.

California called "dibs" on Canada's water a long time ago.

Texas has the second "dibs" on that water.

I have a couple of friends that live in Mexico City and they are ticked off! Fortunately for us, this is the area of Mexico that hates the Mexicans that come here. The people of Mexico City are the ones that we see demonstrating against the Mexican government, trying to fix the problems that Mexico has. They want their trash out of Mexico, unfortunately they come here.

Just another example of Mexico's government conspiracy to justify the soon to be massive flow of asylum seekers! They want them here and they will do anything to keep form taking care of their own people!
